Re: Supertramp
I remember thumbing through my elder brother’s albums and discovering the cover for the Scorpions LP Lovedrive. The picture is of a man and woman in the back of a car, with the man stretching bubble gum off the woman’s breast. They even had a special effect to make the bubble gum sticky.

Supertramp
With the sad news of founding member and vocalist Rick Davies passing away, I was reminded about what a fantastic and unique band Supertramp were/are. I only started getting into them a few years ago. I don’t think there is another band that sounds anything like them. My favourite songs - School, Cr...

Re: West Ham United Women
It will be interesting to see how Martinez does this season. She was smashing in the goals during the last half of the season, so if she can keep up that form we’ll do alright. It’s nice to have a German up front who scores goals, but we’ll probably struggle to keep hold of her. Elsewhere, London Li...

I missed the first half because I was painting my deck. It was still more interesting than the second half.

Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 - 2025)
Thursday Murder Club on Netflix was a good watch, with a very impressive cast. Also, another film with a West Ham reference. I thought it was pretty average considering the amazing cast. Fair enough. I don’t think it will win any awards, but it was okay for something to watch with the wife.

Re: Grimsby fined for fielding an ineligible player in win over Man Utd
Manny had previously played for Gillingham while on loan so was cup tied. All the others seem to be about getting international clearance. Grimsby registered the player 2 minutes late. I still think our punishment was disproportionate mind. He only came on for a few minutes and made no difference to...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread
Did Aguerd definitely go? I’ve not seen anything official.
I have a little theory about the fee. Emerson apparently had a sell on clause so we deliberately kept his fee down and boosted Aguerd’s up so that the rent boys wouldn’t get as much money.

Palace have paid £20.8m for 20 year old Jaydee Canvot, Cresswell’s centre back partner at Toulouse. So we were both going for Toulouse centre backs and Igor Julio.

Looks like we’ve gone for the short term option. A bit underwhelming but probably still a better option than nothing at all.

I like Irving too. He hasn’t put a foot wrong for us. But he’ll only ever be a bit part player for us and at 25 needs first team football. We’ve got enough cover in the middle now and need to give some of our youngsters a chance.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread
Hopefully we can get Charlie Cresswell in today and offload Aguerd, Rodriguez, Irving and Cornet. Emerson also off to Marseille for a pittance. I liked him but he’s the wrong side of 30 and on high wages and we’ve already replaced him. I don’t know a lot about Cresswell but we don’t have much time. ...

Fair play to Paqueta. The murmurs that he was refusing to travel were bollocks, and he behaved professionally. I mean, so he should, but plenty of entitled players act like bell ends.
Romano has dropped a bollock and lost a lot of credibility.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread
Paqueta has seriously pissed me off if he is refusing to play. He’s been shit for the majority of his time with us. All fancy tricks and not much end product. Loses the ball and falls over. Almost got himself banned with his thick as shit family and friends putting bets on him. Apparantly Villa want...

I hope we play a back four. I would go with this:
Areola
Wan Bissaka Todibo Kilman Walker-Peters
Potts
Fernandes Paqueta
Bowen Fullkrug Diouf
I would understand starting Maverpanos instead of Todibo and Soucek instead of Potts, even Wilson instead of Fullkrug, but please no Rodrigues.Wan Bissaka Todibo Kilman Walker-Peters

Fernandes Paqueta
Bowen Fullkrug Diouf

Re: Weekend Football
Without wanting to sound like Trundle, I suspected that VAR would be used subjectively to benefit the big six. Of course those clubs will always be able to point at the occasional decision that goes against them and they get a lot of support from the media from this. Maybe instead of a breakaway Eur...

We were in the ascendancy until the ref decided to make it about him. Fearon got sent off because the ball ricocheted into another player’s arm from close range while by its side. We still hit the bar after that. Things are looking up.
