Re: Profit and Sustainability Rules
A couple of things to add on this discussion. The Premier League clubs themselves agree whatever financial rules apply. Thus, it was the clubs who decided last year to stick with PSR rather than change to a simpler squad cost ratio measure. Further, clubs playing in European competition must comply ...

Re: VAR - What is it good for?
As a reality check, Wolves put forward a proposal to scrap VAR just over a year ago and all the other 19 clubs voted against i.e. to continue with VAR.
Is the suggestion that the TV companies put pressure on the clubs to vote that way?
God knows why they see VAR as a positive for the game though.

Re: Profit and Sustainability Rules
The tricky bit is that the clubs vote for these rules themselves. Unless the regulator (is that in operation yet?) can force something unpopular on them.

Re: Profit and Sustainability Rules
Although there may be a good chance that the existing PSR rules will be ditched in the next few years, it will almost certainly be replaced with a Squad Cost Ratio measure similar to that used by UEFA for their competitions. As this is also tied to revenues it will do nothing to remove or reduce the...

Re: Our new best XI.
All the things that Soucek can't do (control, pass, run) - which make him a passenger for most of the game - massively outweigh his contributions in either box. No team should be asked to carry a midfield player in such a way.

Well he’s on his way
We don't know where he’s playing
In a three or four
He’s not so fast
But we don't know why
Goodbye Killman, the king of surrender
Seein' Igor Julio
Play at the sport’s bowl

When I was a kid we used implements from the shed to make up the numbers in back garden football. In this spirit, I propose the following lineup for tomorrow:
Dustbin
Grass Box Lawn Mower Water Butt
Wan-Bissaka Rotary Clothesline Rake Diouf
Hosepipe Bucket
Bowen

Although it wouldn't be a surprise it could equally be yet another excuse planted by the club.In his latest West Ham piece in the Guardian, Steinberg spreads the blame around widely for West Ham’s current demise. Yet the feeling at the end was that the main culprit for 15 years of shocking recruitme...

Re: Wolves vs West Ham | Carabao Cup 2nd Round | 26.8.25 | Match Thread
Wolves fans also seem unhappy about their owners most of the time but they do manage to do a good job with player recruitment. Players Wolves have sold over recent recent years: Neves £47 m Nunes £53 m Neto £54 m Kilman £40 m Ait-Nouri £31 Cunha £62 m And possibly Larsen (who was linked with us last...
