"In his second season we used to score for fun. Our defence wasn't amazing but it didn't matter because you knew we would score. I think we only didn't score in 1 game that season I believe. The very reason we did well is that we didn't always sit back. We went for goals and that meant that teams didn't know whether to sit back or attack us. All they knew was if they didn't get a goal against us they'd probably lose as we were certain to score. A lot of our games had 2/3 goals from us. I just think him being a defender by trade sees clean sheets just as valuable as goals. And they're not! Scoring will always be the hardest thing in football and the reason why the game exists. I find it depressing that we let go of a ""shit""ù defender in Diop who's flying in the league now with Fulham, bought in 3 fairly high profile defenders with big money and we are getting relegated now""¶ Was defence ever really our major problem?? If he had concentrated on getting talented forwards and midfielders maybe we wouldn't be in this mess. It's like he's hugely tried to over correct a minor problem."

Sully and Gold pride themselves on being the owners that are loyal to managers and not pulling the trigger at the first sign of problems. Theyve said it for 20 odd years and lived up to that. I would suggest it has been disastrous and placing some virtue signalling above hard facts will cost them again

"trundle, I know full well what the fucking STATS are since late 2021. It's just an illustration for many of the hard of thinking cunts on here that we're no better off this season, than we were when that hopeless clown had the job"

Good on him. Someone needs to say it. Things must be pretty bad to have to speak out.

"Did anyone else note Declan Rice waded into Moyes in his interview: ""When you play a 3-5-2 with the players we have its like the two up front are too isolated. They've not no support around them"" Basically saying if you don't play with creative midfielders willing to attack you'll not create much."

Moyes keeps banging on about defensive mistakes but it's inevitable if you set up to defend for 90 minutes eventually there's gonna be at least one or two slip ups.

"Exactly the same here ED. Normally I'd be absolutely furious we'd conceded and especially to those cunts but all I could muster was a sweary grumble and the burning hate of Moyes building in my belly knowing the game was lost already. We've all seen relegations before and this feels like a relegation now. This one however would be the worst by far, potentially ruinous for the club but so very embarrassing given the ridiculous circumstances. The board, the management team and all the fucking players can fuck off and lick my fucking dome."

"Will we never learn from our mistakes? Grant we left it too long and he took us down with a whimper. Moyes is doing the same with a much stronger side. What was the point of signing Ings? The bloke clearly can't see we could have Haaland and it wouldn't make any difference because they're completely isolated in this ultra defensive system. The hit and hope to Antonio worked for a while when he still had a bit of pace & strength. Not a single player has improved under him, they've all got worse. Our crossing has been abysmal for as long as I can remember. The bloke is clueless. Get someone young in with fresh ideas"

"We haven't scored as many goals collectively as either Rashford or Haaland have this season FFS. In December Moyes was deluded enough to say he was fighting to get into Europe not avoiding relegation. Yesterday SHOULD have been the final straw. Against a bang average Spurs side he sent out only 2 attacking players in Bowen and Antonio. Then at 1-0 down and 2-0 down our big money striker, the Italian International striker, still sat on the bench as he sent on Johnson, a fucking full back. He is trying his hardest to get the sack so please, please fucking oblige him."

"Tell you what, I bet we scored a lot more goals in those games under Avram. We've scored less goals than points gained this season, 19 goals in 23 games. It is absolutely fucking incredible how this man is getting away with it, both in keeping his job and the free ride within the game. When those goals went in yesterday, it barely registered. I'm numb about West Ham due to this cսnt. Worst of all, as I've pointed out so many times, we've been extremely lucky this season, we shod be rock bottom 10 points adrift from safety."

"Still getting backed on talksport this morning. Both Downing and (slightly less so) Pearce claiming he's the right man for the job, lots of prem experience etc etc. Players need to improve. It's so lazy, no mention of the hard facts related to our form and how he threw the towel in yesterday. Like someone aid yesterday, Sullivan will be listening to all of this drivel which is why he hasn't acted. We are going down"

"What a way to end your career. Came in once and saved us from relegation. Thanks. Came back a second time and exceeded expectations with a modicum of success. Thanks, but hold on. That was largely when stadia were empty due to covid. A by-product of that was that other teams could not scout properly, they relied on TV footage which does not give a full picture of the game and opponents strengths and weaknesses. This success carried on for a short while as ground access became available but, from the middle of last year, other teams scouted us properly, worked out how we played and counter acted. Results fell off a cliff and are still falling. In short, Moyes is a fraud. His limited way of playing only works for a short while and if he doesn't adapt it, which he won't, then failure follows. Add to that the inability to deploy players in their rightful roles, bring the best out of talent, running the energetic into the ground, and incapability to change a game through intelligent substitution we have the full spectrum of a disastrous failure. I, like most, enjoyed the successful times he had. I did not, however, believe that was the right time to stop protesting as the bigger ills in the club are perpetuating the current mess. Moyes days in the sun are now long passed and he shows no sign of being able to adapt and survive, therefore he needs to be put out of our misery if only to protect the vestige of a positive reputation that may just cling to him. For me the bad substantially outweighs the good now and he absolutely must go."

"goose 9:45 Mon Feb 20 Re: Moyes Out Avram Grant after 23 games in 2010/11 W 4 D 8 L 11 - 20 points David Moyes after 23 games in 2022/23: W 5 D5 L13 - 20 points ___ Damning stats indeed. It is quite scandalous Moyes hasn't been sacked. No doubt the incompetent Sullivan will repeat history and sack Moyes AFTER we are inevitably relegated like he did with Grant in 2011. He pulled the trigger in time with Bilic and Pellegrini, so I don't know what hold this dour, jock, dinosaur loser has on Sullivan. Bambleboozled by one and a half decent seasons and a Europa League semi final, I suppose. Sickening incompetence yet again by our board taking the club to its default setting as a complete and utter laughing stock. Good luck to the club trying to fill the 62,000 ""biggest stadium in London"" bowl playing the likes of Huddersfield and QPR in the Championship next season."
