"Ive been obsessed with the failings of Soucek for 2 and a bit seasons. In a low block, keep the shape and sit deep and score with counters and set pieces he can be of done use. That approach is Moyesball. If you want to keep the ball and pass and move etc Soucek is of no value other than as an impact sub to chase a game when a tactical switch to going direct or getting on the end of a set piece is needed. He’s not fast or technically good enough to be in a Premiership team that wants to get and keep the football"

"The good news is thats 2 less games that Kudus will miss for the afcon Agree with comment on Earthy and Orford And you can add Cresswell to that list of players that we should be shot of I make it that we have Benrahma, Johnson, Mavropanos, Ogbonna, Kehrer, Fornals, Cresswell, Ings who should be fucked off Soucek should never start and Areola didn't exactly cover himself in glory"

Well we ain't gonna win the Europa given that Liverpool are in it. So what does that leave? FA Cup and the league.

Tonight is why Moyse has to go Liverpool playing a much changed team saving their selves for Saturday. Then Moyse picks a shit team to save them to play against his ex employers trying to prove a point when we are in a quarter final when a winner could take all. The sooner he’s gone the better

"Stubbo 11:20 Wed Dec 20 Totally agree re Soucek that there are games ( few and far between ) that he can be effective but you need the ball in the box for him to be of any use. Tonight wasn't a game for him. I find it incredible that players like Formals and Johnson.. and Soucek to be fair, who were all decent and promising when they first arrived but seem to be getting worse under Moyes tuition. Benrahma makes same errors week in week out, surely coaching makes players better not worse. I'm grateful to Moyes for Europe last year but he can't take us any further."

"Steidten doesn’t want to be involved with a club that cannot even make a game of a cup qtr final surely? How much of the problem is the squad quality “The tools” for the job and how much is it the tradesman ? It’s both because he’s built a squad without pace and technique in depth but also because we don’t seem to many players improving under his guidance ? The exception is Emerson but I just think he needed a run of games. We look to be headed to where most of us thought. Mid table mediocrity and out of every cup and no European qualification. It should see Moyes binned and hopefully Steidten can get in the right man, players for next season"

And Dr Matt forget new players until we get the new manager. There’s no way this sad sack a’ole should be allowed to preside over any new signings whatsoever.

By a country mile the worst performance of the season ... and the worst players were the ones coming in that had something to prove... Benny was a fucking disgrace out there... think my ferrets would have bullied him... would have much rather us taken tonight more seriously than the red Mancs at the weekend... heard that that there's been an illness bug going around and too be honest it looked like every player had bad monkey aids... shocking

"Yeah, somewhat typically we have posters saying ""you all asked for squad rotation, now you're unhappy?""... spectacularly missing the point. We have no squad depth because Moyes has destroyed confidence, coached any innate ability out of multiple players, hasn't blooded youth and has recruited poorly How anyone can support him is beyond me"

That low block bollox doesn't work . The fans know it . And so do the players. But in typical Moyes fashion he reverts back to it as soon as faces one of the sky 6 . He's a proper coward make no mistake about it . How can he instill confidence into his players when he clearly has none in himself. Night all . And safe travels to the poor sods who had travelled to watch that .

"Any so called back up player who played tonight can have no excuse and has no ability to whinge if they never play for the club again or are actively sold in January. Johnson, Dogbonna, Mavropanos, Fornals, Benrahma Absolutely diabolical displays from all of them. While if that is not the end of Soucek’s run in the team then Moyes should be fired. I can see Tomas serves a purpose and I get why you might play him / bring him on. But that display tonight was disgustingly bad. Laboured, technically inept, cowardly even. There is no way you can tell me Lewis Orford or George Earthy wouldn’t have been more effective. We desperately need two full backs, a centre back, a defensive midfielder and a striker in January. That’s before AFCON cover is considered. Could / should be 7 out and 7 in (2 of them loans) for January."

"Let’s face it, even if we had played our best team from the start it was highly unlikely we were going to get through to the semi finals. Getting Liverpool at Anfield was the worst possible draw. Liverpool have only lost one domestic league or Cup game at Anfield in 2 and a half seasons. It’s pretty much a fortress. BUT….that doesn’t excuse the manager from at least putting out the best team and at least giving it a go and it also doesn’t excuse the poor individual errors and general all round poor defending."

"When I saw the team selection I knew we were in trouble. I’m a give Motes more time camp but this is the sort of selection and performance that makes it hard to continue my support for Moyes. Why even fucking bother? I was hoping we’d go up there and give it a real go, instead we fucking laid down again. Fucking hate that mentality."

We were fortunate to finish runners - up in that. Has anyone considered getting rid of Moyes and bringing in someone who knows how to manage a potentially highly talented squad?

"Well we kinda knew as soon as we saw the line up but bar Bowen's goal we offered absolutely sod all for 90 minutes. An absolutely gutless performance, 11 fans in kit would have shown a bit more pride. Didn't see one tackle, absolutely nothing. Possibly one of the worst Man United teams ever got a 0-0 the other day and yet we have conceded 10 goals in the last two away games. One has to wonder how the better players think when they see the line up. Two games away from Wembley you need to have your best players out there to give yourself a chance. The sort of surrender that pushes the better players to start looking elsewhere."

I’m not a hater but I’m done with Moyes now. Why not prioritise a game with a route to Europe and a winnable final? We were beaten the minute he handed in his team sheet. I can only assume his ego means that he was prioritising the game against Man Utd. Shame on him. Feel so bad for the poor sods like my brother who went up there on a wet midweek night thinking we would be competitive. And we could have been. Moyes out.

"all fucking week in the build up to this game we've had Sullivan's sock puppet YouTube channels pushing a new contract narrative, all off the back of beating a German pub team and mediocre Wolves side. And what does that jock cսnt do with such spin, propaganda and goodwill? A situation where he had zero pressure to rest anyone, yet benches our best defender this season and best playmaker, also the only player (JWP) that validates the inclusion of the czech mannequin. this is why he needs to go, he's terrible yet the usual sheep will still defend him"
