It sounds like his supposed “greed” is towards Man Utd, not West Ham. His likely wages here appear to have been negotiated - it’s his pay-off from Man Utd that seems to be the stumbling block. West Ham’s frustration is the time this is taking and the player’s hesitancy towards us. Which I can understand: you’ve got to sign players who want to be here - irrespective of where they’re leaving.

Dithering Dave strikes again. Spends most of the window eying up a player, who ultimately doesn’t join, while missing out on other potential targets.

Apparently Maguire looking unlikely now, we think he's being too greedy according to an itk on kumb and moving on to a Steidten target. I fucking hope so.

east - we should. but we all know this will drag out until the end of the window when he joins Villa and leaves us with no time to sign an alternative. At least we tried.

If you believe the papers the reason Maguire is not yet at West Ham is that he is yet to reach an agreement with Man Utd over compensation for lost wages if he moves. If he sits on the bench at Man U and does sweet fa he will pick up approx. £29.5m in the next three years of his contract. Although there is an option for a fourth year (don't know who can exercise that) Based on what it is rumoured West Ham would pay him £120,000 a week. He would get approx £18.5m in three years a shortfall of about £11m. Reports suggest Man U have agreed to pay him £6m (about half of the shortfall) which seems reasonable. Maguire is reported to be wanting £15m. Which means He is either rather greedy or The fourth year is part of his calculation and adds on a bit more to the shortfall ( maybe another 3/4 million ) and he is only a little bit greedy or Maybe he is working on the basis that by going he is saving Man U approx £30m wages plus they are getting £30m so he wants £15m from that. The extra £5m being to join a lesser team like West Ham or Maybe my figures are just bollocks and he doesn't and never did want to join us whatever we should move on.

If he doesn’t want to come here and get guaranteed game time, he can fuck off. Not many of the ‘big teams’ will want him. What we can’t do is have Moyes chasing another player again - and then not get anyone in as all the ether was wasted on one player. Bet he’s trying to sign Lingard though.

The Telegraph are reporting tonight that WH are now looking at other CB options as Maguire seems to be pissing us about. Well thank fuck for that.

Something not ringing true here re Maguire If a deal is all but done with fee and terms agreed then the player doesn't sit on the bench. No talk of a medical either so obviously nothing imminent. The reason for the delay if he wants to move needs to be clarified if he doesn't want to come then it's time to move on.

One source saying the delay with Maguire is because Man U won't let him go until they have a replacement lined up. Another source saying it's because Maguire is demanding £15m compensation for loss of salary - they have offered him £6m. Either way, fuck them off and fuck him off. Whether it's Chalobah, Harwood-Bellis or the bloke from Leverkusen, FFS move on.

Hoping Man Utd suffer two long term injuries at CB tonight, so then they can’t let Harry go.

This was the Bayer Leverkusen alternative https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2023/08/13/west-ham-now-planning-30m-bid-for-ivory-coast-international-defender/ Dont know him from a bar of soap but still preferable to Harry

JayeMPee 5:23 Mon Aug 14 Did he? Maguire has a lot of faults, not sure gabbing to the press about West Ham is one of them.

COOL HAND LUKE 3:32 Mon Aug 14 Yeah, the Greek thing summed him up: "Do you know who I am..?" WHAT an entitled twat'' Yea, imagine being a multi-millionaire, captain of one of, if not the biggest club in the world, England regular, and giving it large after a number of beers to some no mark in some backwater in Greece! How very dare him! If, IF, only his shit didn't stink and he was just so perfect. Shame on him!! He clearly needs to come on here to learn how to be the perfect, unassuming human being, just like our very own CHL!

Don't get me wrong - I think Maguire would be a good signing for us in Moyes' system IF he genuinely wants to join West Ham and is enthused by the challenge. There's a big difference between wanting to join a specific club, and going somewhere else for the next best offer because you've been forced out of Man Utd. Our history is full of signings we made of decent players taking one last big payday etc, and sort of cruising along a bit when they got here. If there's any sense of that from Maguire now that he's past 30, then I'd say no thanks. We're probably about to make him our highest paid player ever, for starters. It's one thing for him to be cheesed off about leaving Man Utd, but some genuine desire to play - and compete at his highest level - for us would be nice.

Didn't he call us a 'little club' at the outset, hardly what we want to hear from a potential captain! The board allegedly brought Steidten in because they didn't want a repeat of the disastrous transfer activity this time last year, well its worse!! If sullivan can't pull his finger out its about time the board took a stand.

To be honest, I just desperately want us to sign a centre half, so we can stick the fucking hapless Aguerd on the bench. I was told last season he needed time, after watching him run about after Solanke like a dog chasing an empty crisp packet in heavy winds, he needs a whole lot fucking more.

I don't have an issue with him thinking it over. I have no doubt he'll give his all if he does decide to join us. I worry more about how fragile he's become with the criticism he's received from the Man Utd fans. And I worry his current form isn't temporary and he's just at that level now.

Them despicable cunts have signed 35 year old Jonny Evans back how shit must Maguire be and if the privileged tosser doesn't want to come why is the equally tosser Moyes hanging around. The fuckwit.

If Maguire wanted to join us he'd have signed by now. It seems obvious that he's reluctant to join us. I only want us signing players who want to play for us, not because they've been backed into a corner. We've had enough of sulky fuckers who didn't want to be here, Haller and Scamacca being the most obvious examples, and it has cost us tens of millions. Maguire is well past his best and can only get worse, so to spend £30 mill plus huge wages on such a player is utterly stupid. But this is Moyes we're taliking about and his track record on transfers is pretty pony.
