I used to see him there in the late 80s. Saw Alvin and Dave Swindlehurst too.
Re: King Billy
As a 13 - 14 year old I saw him score a hat trick against Chelsea at Upton Park. One of my favourite West Ham memories, and that includes 2 FA cups, a league cup final (and replay) and a CWC final. Billy was a constant in that lot. What a servant of the club. We are lucky to have had some true legends playing for us but Billy Bonds doesn’t have to look up to any of them.

Re: King Billy
Legend is an understatement for Billy. Top player, top attitude, top man.
Get better very swiftly boss.

Re: King Billy
What a fucking player! The word legend is bandied around too much and has lost it's meaning but Billy Bonds is a proper legend in the proper meaning of the word.
Let's hope the rumours are incorrect.

Re: King Billy
My first game at Upton Park was him being unveiled as the manager. I walked into the seats in the West Upper just as the roar went up for Billy. Glad they named the stand at the new place after him. Was moving to see him emotional that day too. Deserving of the 'West Ham Legend' label as any.

Re: King Billy
Stick in their Bill, your time aint up yet. Had to tell my old man (Bill being his idol growing up) the same thing yesterday as well when rushed in to hospital himself. Life comes at you hard at times..
