"I Care a Lot - slightly promising first hour, expectations raised by a good cast (Rosamund Pike, Peter Dinklage) but the second hour was brain-numbingly painful. Would have walked out but we were watching at home in our own front room."

"The Tomorrow War A very bad. Overemotional, cheezy and too much bad CGI. Give me Starship Troopers over that any day."

"I had to only see the sets, effects and the acting in Tomorrow War's trailer to know I wanted to avoid."

"Thanks Branded I started to watch that last night, turned off and was going to return but will probably avoid now! Saw ""Army of the Dead"" on Netflix and ""The Ice Road"" on Prime. Both ok watches, nothing special although Neeson seems to be running out of decent scripts now."

"Woman in the Window - Thought it was pretty good, without being great, and some good scenes with Oldman hamming it up a little."

"Got around to The Father, enjoyed it, although of course you pretty much know how the film will play out before you even watch it. Another masterpiece from Sir Anthony, fully warranted Oscar."

The Father. Great performances - starts a bit too play-like but settles down. NOT a feel-good film though. The final five minutes are like being punched in the gut.

Zico - When you see the scenes in the house that is where I went ref my post below. As if often the case it seemed smaller than what it looked in the film.

"Caine's been in two or three Graham Greene adaptations. I'd love to do a project with him before he pops off to Hollywood heaven. He's making any old shit nowadays, so I may finally be in with a chance."

"The Quiet American is really good, Caine rates it as one of his best ever performances/films. I've been into the house where a lot of the film was made. I wasn't looking for it but was in 'Nam once and noticed a plaque on the outside of a building I was walking past stating such. It's a tourist attraction now so went inside and had a look."

I think it’s The Quiet American- good Vietnam film set in the early days before the yanks got fully involved! Somerset Maugham no less.

"Abandoned on Prime is based on a true story about four men who set sail bound for Tonga on the yacht Rose Noelle is a decent watch. I'm trying to find a platform that shows The Quiet America with Michael Caine. A mate suggested it but can't find it anywhere, not free anyway!"

Regarding my issue with the dialogue at home. I put cardboard in front if the side speakers allowing the centre speaker to come through better. Only needed for certain show and films but dies the job.
