I watced Nomadland last night. A bit slow and depressing but a decent film. Frances McDormond is excellent as usual.

US films used to spend four or five times in percentage terms more on script redrafts and pre-production than European films, hence why the formula was often so much more polished. Saw County Lines yesterday - very dark but the director had Come and See as an influence so it figures. Key scene in Leigh-on-Sea for all you Essex Boys."

Watched Palm Springs on Amazon. It was okay but not great.

'Nobody' with Bill Odenkirk (Saul from Better Call Saul) is a fucking hoot. Saw it twice last week and he's perfectly cast as a seemingly normal cowardly bloke against the Russian mob. Made me laugh and laugh.

A great film to watch out of your head on mind bending drugs is Mandy with Nicholas Cage. Just the right role for the overacting mental case.
