"If you've got a problem with what he said on there then that's where you should have commented on it. If you want to take the moral high ground then don't start talking about his family, especially not on a completely unrelated thread."

"Hope your daughter has a great night, Russ... however judging by your post on the Rosie Jones thread, I also hope she gets brought up by her Mum to be more inclusive and less, vitriolic and bigoted than her Dad"

So much for hoping Bournemouth have a tough tie and pick up some cards and an injury or two

Phillips will definitely be on the pitch as soon as possible and as much as possible. he's a Moyes man crush player.

"Gaffer, he didn't do that with Lingard, who hadn't even been warming the bench at Man Utd. He put him straight in. It's usually only players with no PL experience that he makes wait for ages."

"Moyes will definitely put Phillips on the bench, bring him on at 75 minutes because “ he needs to get match fit” due to spending the last 2/3 seasons bench warming."

"exile, that lineup is quite similar to what we had in that brief period under Allardyce when we were playing well for a change and 4th at Xmas: 4 central midfielders and 2 forwards running the channels. Moyes won't play anything like that though. He always seems to want wide players who can track back, so the few times he's played two up front I think it's usually been a 442. The other option might be to use some variation of 532 by dropping Alvarez to a back 3."

Trunds - in an ideal world I would agree with you. I'm just discussing what the manager's options are and what I think he might do.

"""in the 10 role he's got a difficult choice of Ings... or Soucek"" It's not really difficult. I'd have neither play there."

"Interesting game and I agree that 3 points are vital if we're going to maintain the push for Europe. Zouma out, apparently - that's what comes from playing him twice in a week. I'll be very surprised if Paqueta is back. Talk of resting Kudus is bollocks - he will have had a week to recover. With Coufal suspended this is an important opportunity for Johnson. He has looked like a different player in his last couple of appearances so I am hoping truth has penetrated his thick skull and staring down the barrel of a declining career has given him the jolt he needed. If he puts in another good performance and keeps it going he could win back the RB slot and get himself a new contract. With Paqueta absent it's going to be interesting to see what Moyes does up front. I reckon he'll go with a front two of Kudus and Bowen and in the 10 role he's got a difficult choice of Ings, based on his good performance at Sheffield, or Soucek, based on his performances there earlier in the season when he was getting a few goals. I think we all know what he's going to do... Areola Johnson Mavropanos Ogbonna Emerson JWP Alvarez Phillips Soucek Kudus Bowen Areola"

"He may have filled in there in a pub league a few times, but we bought him as a defensive midfielder, and he's playing well as a defensive midfielder. I'm not a fan of putting players in different positions when they're already playing very well in their natural position. The same goes with Bowen, and playing him up front. He's a right winger. Just buy a fucking striker."

"Lee - Yep, but he started out as a CB I believe and still plays there sometimes for Mexico and did for Ajax... So could definitely see Moyes using him there in an emergency..."

"Bunch of Victor Meldrew type cunts. Everyone will be fit and Sir Alf just so you know, you clearly don't follow football, that Coufal will be suspended. Areola Johnson Zouma Mavropanos Emerson Alvarez Phillips JWP Bowen Paqueta Kudus Our strongest starting XI"

Mex Martillo 9:40 Thu Jan 25 Apologies Mex Doesnt sound like me so…. Coufal will get raped by their pace Ings will start as Moyes claims Kudus is tired from a long flight Phillips will play with Soucek in a 3 man midfield and Moyes will put out a back 5 I will think of more. I dont want to lose my position as site misery. I know there are oots if challengers so i nred to up my game. :-)

Moyes might play Alvarez at centre back. Perfect excuse to Keep Soucek in. He's played there quite a bit I believe.

"I strongly suspect that if we don't come away from this game with 3 points, we can kiss a European place goodbye. Once Moyes has attained that goal he'll let the team loose and we'll storm the rest of the season with delightful, flowing football in the full knowledge that our best years are finally over."
