"I haven't heard a single thing about what might be happening with Cornet. He seems like a forgotten man, thanks to his treatment by Moyes. Will he be moved on (presumably at a big loss) or might he get a fresh start with Lopetegui?"

"I like Awoniyi, bit of an Antontio mk2 so if true presumably he would be moving on, or does it make sense to have two players of a similar type to maintain a style of play? Article explains his injury woes otherwise a bit of a risk. Pleasantly surprised by the players we are being linked with."

"Forest news West Ham want to sign £18m Nottingham Forest player who staff have real sympathy for One Nottingham Forest player is attracting interest from West Ham and was the subject of interest from Chelsea in January. The Reds are likely going to be busy this summer with more emphasis placed on streamlining the squad. Forest have had two busy summer transfer windows since they returned to the Premier League but might be more savvy this time around. Nuno Espirito Santo knows that players will need to be sold but he will also want the competitive nature of the squad to remain. Now, it’s been claimed that one player is attracting interest from West Ham ahead of the summer transfer window. Taiwo Awoniyi wanted by West Ham It might be all change in the dugout at West Ham but it appears the Hammers remain keen on Awoniyi. Julen Lopetegui, previously linked with Forest, is in place at the London Stadium and it would seem the club are keen on the Reds’ talisman. Daniel Taylor – the Forest supporting award-winning journalist – has been discussing the player’s future during a Q&A with The Athletic this afternoon. He said: “Awoniyi is another player getting interest from potential buyers. I know Forest would rather keep him though. “Chelsea tried for him in the January transfer window. David Moyes was also keen and West Ham still like him. “His value has diminished because of the number of games he has missed through injury. But we’ve seen what he can do when he’s in good condition. “There’s also a bit of sympathy for him behind the scenes. He was rushed back from an operation last season and had to be managed between games. “The guy was playing through the pain at times. It ended with him breaking down again and there was a bit of disquiet about how everything was handled.” Forest should persist with Awoniyi Although the Reds need to raise funds to ensure they comply with financial fair play once again, Awoniyi is so important. Okay, so the player might have missed a lot of last season but he still scored six goals during 2023/24. Awoniyi needs his game time managing more meticulously and Forest shouldn’t be selling him at the first sign of struggle. As Taylor says, he’s been dealt a rough hand with injury and it would be nice if the club had a younger striker to rotate Awoniyi and Wood with. The player cost £18 million from Union Berlin and the Nigerian never struggled with injuries during his time in the Bundesliga. It’s not clear at this stage whether West Ham will come forward with an offer but if they do, Forest would be wise to hold on to Awoniyi."

"Versus Diego Gómez joins a traditional Premier League team? The Paraguayan Diego Gómez would have his hours numbered in Major League Soccer to make the big leap to the Premier League. The Inter Miami midfielder could transfer in this transfer market, after just one year of having arrived at the Florida team. Gómez had a fantastic Pre-Olympic at the beginning of the year, being the best player of the tournament and leading Paraguay towards the 2024 Paris Olympics. Then he joined Inter Miami again, and with better adaptation, he began to shine with goals and assists. Rumors of a possible departure from the MLS have been surfacing for quite some time, to make the jump to Europe and according to Versus sources, Gómez will play in the Premier League from next season. West Ham of England has their sights on him and there are even talks to buy the player from Inter Miami of the United States. After the Copa América or the Olympic Games (he will play only one tournament), the safe fate of Diego Gómez will be known, who will definitely no longer continue in the North American league."

"I saw that story on Phillips. I can’t BELIEVE after his spell with us that any other premier league club would want anything to do with him, given how shockingly bad he was, unless there’s something we just don’t know."

"The fact that we have to do quite allot of business this summer, already I would expect the club would first look at who is staying first. With a small squad already, it might be worth sticking with some of the players for another season at least, and then adding to the numbers. Rather than having to add players AND replace those that are leaving. It's very difficult to manage such a big overhaul with the amount of out of contract players and those surplus to requirements so it's no wonder that there is talk of Cresswell staying for another year. It's not inspiring, but it's sensible. There will be others too, that we need to get rid of, but with such a thin squad I don't expect quite an exodus."

"Sign this lad as the second striker behind the main striker is my suggestion! Orri Steinn Óskarsson https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orri_%C3%93skarsson This lad is only 19 (20) in the summer and is already one of the hottest prospects in the Danish league He is gonna be a star, the sky is the limit for him Here he is being linked with a move to Serie A yesterday in an Icelandic article https://www.visir.is/g/20242576493d/orri-steinn-til-italiu-"

"Manuel 1:43 Tue May 28 Fair comment, but we've just been through years of not filling gaping holes in the squad and of buying players completely unsuited to the positions and roles they're asked to play, so I don't think I'm ready to just assume that everything will now be A-OK on that front."

During a moment of boredom yesterday I watched C & B and Hammers Chat on Youtube. If you believe the rubbish they come up with we are going to be signing 37 players despite only having a budget of £3m. I'm not sure where they get their stories from by my god they are fucking rubbish. I won't believe we are signing anyone until they are doing the crossed arms pose in front of our badge with a beaming Tim Steidten standing next to them. I mean why would we sign Grady Diangana for £9.6m???

"Sport Witness West Ham’s ‘negotiations underway’ for signing – Midfielder ‘will play’ in PL next season By Naveen Ullal Inter Miami’s Diego Gómez has ended up on West Ham United’s transfer radar, according to multiple claims from Paraguay. Last summer, the Paraguay international joined the MLS side from Club Libertad and signed a deal until December 2026. His performances for Inter Miami and his country have caught the Hammers’ attention. That’s according to Versus, who say the 21-year-old ‘will play’ in the Premier League from next season and specifically at West Ham. Julen Lopetegui’s side are said to be holding discussions with the American club over a potential deal for the midfielder in the summer window. It’s claimed Gómez ‘would have his hours numbered’ at Inter Miami. The report also says he will represent his country at the Copa América or the Olympics, after which there should be more clarity over his future, which is likely to be in Europe. Despite insisting his exit is close, a deal with West Ham may take place in the next few days. ABC journalist Wilson González Bronce took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to also talk about the Premier League side’s interest in the South American. Bronce adds ‘there are negotiations underway’ for Gómez to make a switch to England in the next window. Gomez spacer"

"''This Jota Silva fella might have been playing mainly RW this season, but he's actually right footed and most of his goals came from being in left or central positions, so in his case it won't be a problem.'' Well that's a relief then, as just for a minute I was worried that Lopsie and the scarf hadn't thought about all of this!"

"""my main gripe was obsessing with what side he plays or plays best, wingers switch sides all the time these days"" That's certainly true of a lot of wingers, but there's plenty of them who are much less effective on one side. Goal scoring wingers in particular are nearly always better playing on the side that enables them to cut in, like Kudus and Bowen, neither of whom should ever play on the left if it can be avoided. Clearly, if either of them could then we wouldn't have needed a LW so badly in the first place. This Jota Silva fella might have been playing mainly RW this season, but he's actually right footed and most of his goals came from being in left or central positions, so in his case it won't be a problem."

We will need to spend a lot of time working out a chant / song for our first signing? What about a long drawn out chant of “Fab-bri-cio” or something like that? ;-) I need to now go look at some YouTube clips to pass judgement on him and whethercti start booing now or later. Conflicting reports I read say he is quick and another said almost as slow as the infamous fan site “Westhamonline” ?

Good news that Silva didn’t make the squad… here for a full preseason. Definitely bring Downes back. Him and Earthy will be like having two new players. Bruno done apparently (according to Fabrizio) En Nesryi also looking likely. Just need another CB and a RB and we are good to go.

"Jota Silva not in the Portugal squad To be fair their forwards include Bernado Silva , Ronaldo, Diogo Jota, Joao Felix, Neto & Leao so tough competition I hope we do bring Downes back and give him a chance in his correct position… not no10 or Moyes favourite graveyard Left wing If we decide to let him go the best player in the Championship should be £30m plus they have to take Ings"

"Ludo - Sure, he does look a talent, my main gripe was obsessing with what side he plays or plays best, wingers switch sides all the time these days, even go central like Kudus can. Do we know if he made the cut for the Portugal Euro's squad? They have some serious talent, dark horses for me in Germany."
