"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Empire's come. Empires go. Nice to see most of the AFC East finally getting its act together. Even if it took the better part of 20 years. Still work needs to be done in the green half of New York.

Also good to see the Dolphins turn over the Patriots again.

"Grump, If Wilson's knee-knack takes longer than expected, you might have a buyer for Jimmy G: but you've got to take Flaccid Flacco in return""¶"

"There's nothing like a good win to start the season""¶and the Jets had nothing like a good win to start the season. Utter dross, yet again. That's six out of seven years they've started with a big loss on opening day. Fucking Groundhog Day. Flacco, who must be about 328 years-old, looked about 628 years-old. Which is quite an achievement. We've got a tough schedule this year, starting with all four AFC North sides, and the AFC East is strong as the Bills and Fish proved today. It's going to be yet another VERY long season in Gotham. I'm fed up hearing Saleh bang on about a defence he refuses to call plays for. Until he grows a pair of bollocks and starts coaching on game days, he's just background noise. The schedule eases a bit towards the end of the season, and our many rookies will have started to improve by then (hopefully). So we should win a few games in Nov/Dec. But we could easily be 2-8 after ten games. Again."

I still like Wentz and when he is on form there are few if any QBs who throw it as well. His turnovers are more entertaining than the average turnover too although not when he's on your side and the season is on the line.

"Some cracking games. Was hard to follow at one point. Had red zone on the telly and the eagles on the iPad. Between the spit screen on red zone and the Eagles trying their best to give away a massive lead, it was all a bit confusing. On the plus side the Birds won and despite having only two players on my Fantasy Team, both of them have turned up and given me a shout."

Ha The Saints generally play like a parking lot of dumpster fires for 3 quarters but the Dirty Birds choke again and they get the win.

"Come on then - the season is upon us. Not quite the start today, as we've had Bills/Rams for the opener. But it's a quiet week on the (real) football front, due to Lizzie2 popping her clogs, so let's have your predictions for the NFL season. Let's do this in three sections: A prediction for your own side A predicition for the SB winners And mention a few sides who will compete hard. I'll go 7 (wins) 10 (losses) but finally some progress for the Jets, who have a hard schedule starting with the entire AFC North. SB champions will be, um, the Chiefs. Other sides that will go big this year: Brady's bunch, Bills, Ravens and (one for Norf and his bro) the Cowgirls (providing their QB stays healthy). You watch, we'll dig out this thread halfway through the season and everybody - me included - will be swiftly changing their predictions. Fire away..."

Stafford must be one of the worst QB's to own a superbowl ring. Bloke is so shit.
