Weller a big fan especially when SM was in the Nips... face in the London Mod scene.... his stuff with the Pogues will stand the test of time... burnt the candles at both ends with a flamethrower... absolute character

Tbf he’s looked at Deaths door for much of his life so he’s done well to last as long as he did. I always assumed McGowan & the Pogues were 100 percent Irish. Didn’t realise they were all from England albeit leaning into their Irish roots with the music. Fairytale of New York is obviously a classic so even if you weren’t familiar with his other stuff and only took that into account he deserves a lot of credit for co writing that. RIP
