Well next up the Bin Dippers. Two ideals go to head to head in this match....The ideal time for us to play Liverpool after an horrific run of defeats and confidence at an all time low....and the ideal club for Liverpool to face to break their rut, with our unmatchable ability to fold in the face of reputation.
So who will prevail? The bookies certainly favour the Mickeys, making us about 4/1 to pull it off, and them odds on. But we're 3 unbeaten and approaching something close to a 'run of form'.
Mavropanos is back available, as is Fullkrug, Guilherme who subbed off for a rolled ankle was seen in training....but Summerville was conspicuous by absence, with Nuno characteristically coy on his Availability.
With Paqueta back from suspension, Wilson in fine form, and a more settled midfield, there is at least hope that a dysfunctional Liverpool side can be bested and we can give that big bald head of Arne Slot an almighty Tango-esque SLAP!
Predicted LineUp:Areola
AWB Mavropanos Todibo Diouf
Potts Fernandes Paqueta
Bowen. Wilson. Guilherme (Summerville if fit)
Subs: Hermansen, Igor, Kilman, Magassa, Irving, Rodriguez, Earthy, Soucek, Fullkrug
Predicted Score: West Ham 1-3 Liverpool (Wilson) (Salah 2, Ekitike)
Desperately hope I'm wrong, but there's no better team to play when in the doldrums than the Claret and Blue gift. Maybe Nuno can dispel the evidence of history, and stick one up them, and send them back with nothing but a few hubcaps! COYI!

Now our 4th manager in a row to go with 4cms.
Do other managers at other clubs do this? or just ours?
We need another winger in January ideally who can play either side. Summerville injury prone and not convinced with the young Brazilian.

Well, how fucking limp was that? On a day we could and should have shown a bit of East End pride. I couldn’t give a flying fuck if the ref was a disgrace, or that Liverpool players were falling over their laces cheating like Spurs, or dying of bad cramp.
Liverpool even though fucking poor beyond belief were the ones asking questions of our team, not us of theirs. To not have a go at a team suffering as the grief monkeys are is unforgivable, whether it’s the managers instructions or cowardice, or inability of our team to show some grit,it’s all nowhere near good enough.
Honestly, if I was born yesterday , in East Ham or Plaistow or Mile End or Stratford our club wouldn’t be subconsciously saying to me “you ain’t got a choice, you’re one of us” like it said to me over 50 years ago, where was the pride or fight? I just ain’t seeing it, don’t know whether it’s just me but I can’t see any shoots of how we’re going to get it back.
We had a pretty decent starting 11 and showed fuck all apart from the obvious fact that we were scared by the badge on the oppo’s shirts.
Nuno, what’s the point you’re trying to make with that fucking bench? The only option you gave yourself was to make the midfield fucking glacial, or put on Guilherme who hasn’t even featured in the kids games. Paqueta, look at me entitled cսnt calling out their cheating when he does it every game, Bowen, unbelievable he didn’t even shove Paqueta away or even give him the fucking evil eye. Potts, Magassa and Fernandez did ok but how the fuck are they meant to progress with no leader.
Nuno’s cowardly, he’s not learning any lessons, and the choices and tactics are saying he doesn’t get us fans, not even a little bit. He’s had enough time and enough lessons to be doing far better than he is.

Awful game to be honest. Neither team deserved the win and in the end the £120m striker settled it.
What was disappointing was our lack of quality in the final third and chances created. We really miss Summerville who commits players towards him and can beat a man. Even before the sending off was another anonymous display from Paqueta in an attacking sense......then the sending off is ridiculous. Hope he receives the biggest fine possible.
Bowen should of done more but we've all known he isn't a captain, been saying it for ages. He got the armband as a sweetener to the new contract and because there is no one else who deserves the armband so it just went to the best player like a kids sunday league side.
Back to the game and again I will repeat last weeks opinion, why does he have Irving and Rodriguez on the bench instead of Earthy or Marshall or Kante? Could of done with Earty towards the end when needing a goal. On what scenario yesterday does Irving or Rodriguez come on the pitch?
Thought Magassa had a good game, got stuck in well. Todibo was good again. That is about it, Bowen and Diouf have fell off a cliff, Paqueta is shite and off the bench we have nothing. Second half of games when we need some impetus or to change something there is nothing there at all.
Need to limp along till Jan then get a few in the door first week of the window. Feels like it will be 3 from 4 or 5 at the bottom. Going to be a horrible horrible second half of season.

Not for the faint hearted, but claret and booze Nick is at in in good energy.
Wish our football team had 10% of his passion.
Anyway, good watch and for the most part spot on.
You weren't wrong. Just seen it and he was on fire. I do like Nick when I get round to watching his head exploding rants.
I won't agree with him for calling Bowen a wanker and wanting him sold but I do get he should be doing more as Captain. Pretty much everything else he's spot on with.
For anyone else who wants to watch it..

Spot on Zico & Any Old Iron, the Irony of losing a West Ham Warrior this morning then watching such a spineless performance from a bunch of mostly over paid mercenaries who don't give a toss about us or our club was hard to take. The soulless stadium just added to the feeling that we've lost everything that was great about being a West Ham fan, and at 68 I doubt I'm going to see it again.

Think I'm just about done with this club and football in general. On the day we lose a legend that embodied passion, integrity, honesty, honour, hard work, desire, determination, respect and every other adjective that can describe an absolute gentleman who played for a once great club we are subject to abject refereeing, playacting of the highest order, pathetic behaviour by our current number 10, cowardly management and a bunch of wet blankets who only care about their pay packet and nothing else. Not to mention an athletics stadium with zero atmposhphere and a board that's as hated as the stadium. WTF has happened to this club?!
Perfect opportunity to have a go against the woeful Champions with six PL defeats and three defeats in a row where they have lost by three goals. But nope, we stay cautious for practically the entire game basically inviting Isak to finally break his duck and Liverpool to grab the points. We just stood off, and just allowed them time and space to dictate and when 0-1 down Nuno brings off a striker and brings on a worse striker to try and save the game and when he gets desperate again he throws on another "striker" in Soucek despite taking our best striker off ten minutes earlier,,,, yes I am confused too!!
Paqueta is a disgrace but what on earth is Bowen doing, he should be grabbing him by the neck and dragging him 50 meters away from the Referee. Bowen isn't a captain, but who is? Due to the worst recruitment in our history we have very little to sell and very little on the pitch who is worth playing in a West Ham shirt. We have had a lot of shit over the years but I can't remember such little effort than the pathetic effort this lot put in with a manager who I just cannot see where he is coming from. We would do better with putting an 11 out from this site. Rant over!
Zico, I agree with you 100%.
Today for me was a new low for the club. We’ve been through some terrible times in recent years but after last weeks appalling 2nd half we follow it up with what had to be one of the most feeble performances I’ve seen in the 64 years I’ve been supporting the club. It was truly appalling and the behaviour of that Brazilian cսnt should result in his immediate sacking.
Today had me seething and if I was a season ticket holder I’d have been down the front tearing it to pieces and chucking it onto the pitch.
Fuck the lot of them.

Thought we played okay and showed plenty of effort, just don't have the players upfront to create chances against the top sides.
They do and that was the difference.
Defence & Midfield played well imho.
You’re a fucking imbecile.

Yes Gaz, I've thought the same since his appointment and brought it up at the time. Because Nuno's eyes lit up at the Club agreeing to his contract demands out of desperation it came at a cost of putting up with the cheapo backroom staff. All his old staff at Forest got the boot and probably apart from 1 we've not got them in. He should be working with his familiar old Team if he wants to get the best out of us, not relying on the Clubs past stars who he never heard of until he arrived. It's an odd set-up but oh so very Sullivan to cut corners.

I thought in terms of possession & being in the game we were ok. Just ok but dismal in the final third. Got in some decent positions but picked the wrong ball & didn’t look like scoring
Chickens are coming home to roost given the mismanagement of the club under Sullivan. No leaders, no strikers & a thin squad
Going to be a long hard season even without idiocy like Paqueta’s sending off
That said I thought another of the northern referees gave us bugger all

I'm also somewhat suspicious of the coaching appointments
I love Potts and clearly a talented coach but his and Robson's roles make me slightly suspicious that the powers that be didn't want to fork out on the staff that Nuno would of preferred.
Jobs for the boys or a cheap option having spunked a load of dough paying off Potters lot ?
That may sound cynical but I dont take anything on face value any more.
Sullivan probably thinks anybody can stick a few cones out
but he is wrong.
I would like to see some big characters in the backroom again.
Nolan and MacDonald were no shrinking violets and had a good rapport with the players..
And what the f**k does Mark Noble actually do ?

There is an obvious captain but he's not guaranteed a start and that is Soucek.
I think if there is any player we have who embodies a bit of the Billy spirit, it’s certainly Tomáš.

The thing is how often does the boy have a bad spell? It's so rare which is why it's so noticeable now. This won't last and I wouldn't be surprised if he soon kicks in to turbo nutter mode to prove just how influential he is.
I'm not saying he's a great Captain either as he isn't, I just look around the rest of Team and see a widespread lack of leaders. He does conduct himself impeccably and does represent the Club the way we would want a Captain too, it's just on the pitch he lacks a bit of something. He's currently our best starting Captain we've got. Go through them 1 by 1 and you'll see there is no one.
Only 1 I think could become one in the future if he continues his trajectory is Potts but that's still a long way off yet. We've got to stick with him until someone new comes along that's better.

I think Jarrod is struggling with the captaincy in a poor team, with that extra responsibility affecting his own performance. He works hard you can't fault that but there is so little movement around him and with confidence low all around it can't be easy. He isn't really captain material, although in this squad who is? Can't see anyone else who could step into the role. We certainly don't have any bawlers out there and to be fair the captaincy is probably the one thing keeping him at the club. He is obviously proud to have the role but pull that away from him and that may push him to leave. We just don't have any real winners out there. Even the players with better technique like Fernandes, he has come from a relegated team and we get recruitment wrong time after time. I said earlier, ok Magassa is young but he looks a poor man's Kouyate or Diame. He should just be sitting but he goes too far up when we attack and he has to chase back. Diouf was poor today, even his delivery was off, but to me he isn't a left back. If we had a left back I'd stick him further up on the left, high enough to whip crosses in without having to worry about defending. Is he really any better than Emerson? Are Todibo, Mav and Kilman any better than Zouma and Ogbonna, even with their injuries and age? We need some players desperately but who would want to come and how can we guarantee we would get the right players anyway? This was the perfect time to play Liverpool and we hardly laid a glove on them.

I do not understand the pops at Bowen, by a long way our best player over recent years.
But he isn’t our best player now, he has looked a pale shadow of his former self recently. If he wants to make the World Cup squad then he needs to start performing.
He cannot continue to keep carrying the side like he has done almost every game since Rice left and sadly it's finally caught up with him under all the pressure where it's now badly effecting his own usually excellent performances. That's the real issue here, not him. That said, I still expect him to come good but he really is that good, the poor form won't last. Bar some recent poor performances he is still our best player by some distance over the long run. No one comes close to his consistency down the years.

Going to be really honest here and say that I don't know if I should pity or applaud anyone who still cares passionately about this club. On the day when a man who sweated blood for 21 years on the pitch playing for us passed, the current lot looked as though they really couldn't give less of a fuck.
I know the game and players have changed but christ, there didnt look to be not one scintilla of pride on show today.
Anyway, if you're still fully committed to this shambles, hope its enjoyable for you. Me, i'm done fucking caring!
I hear you.
i would rather play these if they were on 10 game winning streak than the current form.
But this is what i signed up for and West Ham never fail to disappoint .
Billy Bonds doesn't mean anything to these players majority probably never heard of him.
There is a good chance we may go down this season just like in 78 when Liverpool relegated us in the last game of the season and i started going the following season in the 2nd division watching Billy put the fear of god in the opposition.
On to the next game and another rant.

Lost an opportunity for points against a poor Pool…
We were lifeless most of the time…
Disappointing lack of energy and enthusiasm from Nuno on the sidelines…
And Not much leadership from Captain Bowen…
Lacof fire power up front likely to relegate us this time…

Liverpool were there for the taking but I think we only mustered one fucking shot on target all game. Keep playing like this and league one beckons.
