NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"It's possible some coaches have been paid to tank before now. But the problem with Jackson is that, unless he has any firm evidence, then the Browns will just say: a) We've always been a bit shit in the modern era. Look at our record. b) Jackson was proveably a poor coach. Look at his record across more than one season. c) He has no evidence to support his claim. d) We sacked him and he's bitter about his exit. e) He hasn't worked a proper NFL role since he was sacked - indicating he's not very good."

"Commanders is fucking shit, who the fuck signed off on that? Should have gone with the Hogs, at least that has some resonance, still I'm sure someone would have been offended on behalf of pigs"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"I also fucking love the fact that Bill Belichick allegedly sent Flores a text message, congratulating him on getting the Giants gig, when he meant to send it to Brian Daboll at the Bills! I like both the fury that probably created in Flores, who is just going around accusing everybody under the sun of racist policies, and the fact that it belies Belichicks anti-Jets worldview: after his (admittedly poor) experience with the Jets, he would arguably congratulate Satan on getting a job with the 'other lot' in New York. Just read that Flores is suing the NFL, the three teams he interviewed with AND all 29 ""John Doe"" teams that did not interview him even for a cleaning job. What a fucking prick."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"You never know with American courts, but I'd be surprised if Flores wins such a case. The NFL will be able to prove actual positive discrimination in FAVOUR of black candidates through the Rooney Rule. That's why it was set up. Guarantees a foot in the door at interviews which, in the NFL, has been a good thing. What you say when you're in there, if you come across as a dictatorial asshole who has alienated other staff and players, well, that's up to you and the potential employer... Flores needs to be careful, because other franchises will be wary of him after this. He's a good coach, but very ""my way or the highway"", a bit like Mourinho, so he alienates people. He went through staff and co-ordinators like a hot knife through butter in Miami. His problem is not his race - plenty of very good black coaches who get on with the franchise owners and GMs, coaches and players (Tomlin etc). Flores is his own problem."
Re: NFL (since 2016)
Flores has filed a lawsuit against the NFL for racial discrimination. Apparently he didn't get the NY Giants job that he interviewed for. He said the interview was a sham. I bet that will set the cat among the pigeons.

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"The QB market might well heat up in the off-season. The 2022 is not expected to have such a deep pool of talented QBs as last year (although I think a couple of them will turn out to be better-than-expected in the NFL). Roethlisberger gone Brady looks like he's going after 4th Feb (when he gets ££) Rodgers again cheesed off with the Cheeseheads Denver desperate for a starter 49ers unsure about their QBs despite strong roster Pittsburgh and Tampa will need strong replacements Dak's ankle and impatient Jerry etc Even talk of Mayfield moving on from Cleveland before he can walk away for far less money - so he might get shopped around. Can see the free agency or trade market heating up and some overly-expensive deals, or big trades for play-callers, coming up. I remain convinced that Mayfield is a good QB waiting for a good coach to work with. The Browns was hardly the place that was going to maximise his potential. But I think he could go somewhere else and thrive if the Browns make the mistake of letting him go. Tampa? Steelers? 49ers?"

Will Ickey Woods be doing the Ickey Shuffle for the Bengals at the Superbowl? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ih-TYjxG0Ug

"This is the most exciting super bowl match up for years. Really looking forward to it. Hope it's not a blowout one way or the other, although looking at how the playoffs have gone so far, it could be a belter."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"You never know, but I can't see Rodgers heading out West to join the 49ers. Too much invested in Lance and they'll struggle to offload Jimmy G or an unproven Lance - a third, extremely expensive, QB (even one as good as Rodgers) might be a bit much for them to handle on a pricey roster. More likely that Rodgers does his usual thing of moaning a lot until he gets even more power in Green Bay, or he departs for Pittsburgh (he's a declared fan of Mike Tomlin) or Denver (Elway is a declared fan and has form when he poached Manning). Can see him ending up in Denver, who have some good receivers and a running game. They just have a turgid QB. Rodgers could light that place up and with less pressure than he would face in Pittsburgh."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"The 49ers will probably use that loss as a reason to have an ""open competition"" in training and then start Trey Lance next season, won't they? No idea how that will go. But that's a roster with generally strong talent and several stand-out players. They will be competitive again next season."
