May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.
Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?
Window this close season comes in two parts:
Part 1: 1st June to 10th June
Part 2: 16th June to 1st September

Claret & Booze have a theory, chuck enough names out and one day they will get one right. Awful channel just sucking people in to listen to their absolute bollocks. He said Bowen was going last week. Pathetic.
No he didn't he said there was a rumour, that is entirely different... Bit ironic you calling out someone for lying when you're lying about what they said.

Similar meltdown over Josh Brownhill weeks ago who was 100% joining...
...who we haven't signed.
He's not signed for anyone yet, has he?
Not sure, hasn't signed for us though.
It's all agreed and signed in principal. Brownhill has moved to Essex and will be slipped into the squad last week of August. We paid for his Ibiza camp and are paying his current trainer.

Hmmm… connecting the dots ( speculative ) I wonder if Sullivan tried to foist Wilson on Potter, Potter declines and Sullivan then puts out the story that Potter does not want a striker? Its plausible isnt it based on Sullivan’s history? Sullivan always has to give a deal to one or more of his agent mates each window. His way of giving em some of West Ham’s dosh coz it aint his own personal wealth.
And as Scorch says, you have to wonder what goes thru Sullivan’s tiny mind? After 53 strikers of which 50 were floos he’s still getting involved putting his need for looking after family “friends” before the needs of the club and its fans. Just more evidence of the massive millstone our owner is around the neck of our club. An almost insurmountable barrier to success.
I was just thinking the exact same thing actually. Yesterday's news is definitely connected to this. Part one-announce Potter doesn't want a striker (which I still think will be something out of context and far more nuanced if it was even said) trying to soften up our expectations and also making some people annoyed with Potter's supposed approach (as evidenced by some posts on here- seems like they might have been played like a fiddle) paving the groundwork for (Part two) the white knight Sullivan to ride up on his horse and deposit Callum Wilson on our doorstep out of the goodness of his heart. The whole narrative of this has been played out in a way to make Sullivan going over his manager's head to buy one of his mates' players seem like positive news and try to make us grateful in some way that Sullivan has saved us by buying a player none of us want and all feared we'd be lumbered with.

It's not just his theory.
Anyone with half a brain and has followed us for more than 5 mins knows this could quite well be a possibility.

So still could, well aside from we have no room because we haven't been able to sell.
Hasn't Wilson scored just 2 pl goals in the last 18 months?
Seriously anyone getting their hopes up about our window is foolish.

Atleast Wilson and Antonio can do their podcast together during a game on the bench.

It's impossible to work the man out. He'll waste money (although not so much in the last few years) having a punt on a slew of unknown strikers he's seen god knows where, who are all absolute shite aside from Sakho for one season. I'm assuming there must have been some sort of kick back for him or someone else on most of those. But then will get all miserly with the cash and won't even entertain young promising players recommended to him, or asked for by his managers or others who he's actually employed as experts to scout players.
Then in the same breath he'll go out and buy players against their wishes and foist them on them, like Callum Wilson, who we all know is inevitably arriving to contribute very little and we can see a mile off is not going to work out. I'll be amazed if he plays more than 20 times and scores more than 5 goals.

... in the meantime, Hugo Ekitike, who we could have bought for £16.5m goes to Liverpool for £79m.
Sullivan is such a clueless idiot.

I saw a report (rumour) that we are considering an offer for Granit Xhaka, he's 34 as well I think, or close to it at least so will get along just Dandy with Wilson, as will our number 1 striker who's what 32/33? Not to mention we may end up with another 34-year-old in Antonio
Kind of makes a mockery of all this talk of Potter wanting youngsters and we are trying to actively lower the age of the squad....................
Fuck knows who or what to believe, but this season is shaping up to be an utter shambles UNLESS we can pull a few rabbits out of hats (those 2 scouse lads???)
I don't know if it makes a mockery as just a rumour alone so I'm not getting too upset just yet.
I can see Wilson signing but not Zhaka. But let's see what happens first.

Fucking Sullivan at it again.
“We expect to sign Callum Wilson, but that might not be enough in my opinion as he has had injury issues in the past too.”
Callum Fucking Wilson. 34. Spends his life in the physio room. Will Salthouse stable.
What on earth is wrong with these inept cunts. (Whilst the quote is from Hammers News, it's been ratified by Ex).
