Mr Inbetween if you ever fancy a different take on a hitman. Ray Shoesmith is one of my favourite characters of all time.
Great father, great friend, down to earth, oh and a killing machine!

Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
So you'll go hours watching drab boring shit just for one episode at the end. Do don't get out much do you?
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
Mobland is excellent. Brosnan and Mirren at their best and I can just about tolersate Hardy's, this time quite restriant, acting. I'm a big Paddy Considine in fact the whole cast is top rate.
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
Graham is a brilliant actor in almost everything he does but that Thousand Blows on Disney+ is fucking awful, tried my hardest to like it and its just shit with a very poorly thought out story line and the lead girl who is brilliant in Adolescence is shocking in this.
Regarding Adolescence, I wouldnt go looking for offence in it. The story it tells is an important one, as parents we can all be a bit complacent in allowing our kids freedom on the internet and not closely monitoring what they're doing. Its a modern problem, whereas my parents didnt know what I was up to every minute of everyday and they had to put some trust in my ability to make sensible decisions we as parents today have almost too much ability to see into our kids lives and what they are doing. Just because the family in it are white and the main focus is looking at a personal irritant of mine, what they now term as 'toxic masculinity', another bullshit buzz phrase, doesnt mean its not something worth addressing and considering as a problem in society for kids. In the same way we've had shows on black street gangs selling drugs and stabbing/shooting each other, raping gangs in the north and midlands of islamic faith and lots of other risks to the innocence of kids today you cant look at this show and say because its focus might be on white males that its offensive to you and therefore its some sort of propaganda and put out there just to white/male bash, the likes of Andrew Tate, etc are real and its obviously an issue for some young boys today so taking a closer look at it through shows like Adolescence is at least of value so people are more aware of it. I found it interesting and im a father of only girls as I didnt know half of this stuff went on within the social media environment.

Yea as has been said umpteen times Fargo 1 & 2 are outstanding, but they're all good apart from 4.
White Lotus finally picked up in the last episode where they crammed it all in, it was good. Extended episode.

Fargo was superb.
As you say, series 1 & 2 were among some of the best tv ever.

Finally finished The Blacklist! all 10 seasons over the last 6 months or so! Stars James Spader who is excellent in it, so now on the look out for something else as a go to when i have an hour or so to kill.
Not sure im going to bother right now with Adolescence, from what ive seen and read, plenty of the liberal and lefty woke types are going on about sitting down with their kids to watch it and it should be shown or even made compulsory viewing in School etc, all that says to me along with comments about its white toxic masculinity BS is that it's a bit of a subtle bashing exorcise of male honkys! And although i do like Stephen Graham, may give this miss unless atm.
Nah ..fuck that ...watch it (adolescence) and make make of it what you will sydney..
Have you watched FARGO ?
Series 1 &2 are as good as it gets.

I reckon you're one of those middle class cunts who finks it's perfectly normal to leave their own kids alone in a room .. somewhere like Portugal whilst you play the middle class surgeon braggart at the bar and regard the working class as beneath you..?

As for Steven Graham being 'Jamaican now' you do realise he's one of the best actors we've got, don't you? In fact if I come across a film or tv show I've not heard about and he's in it I'll give it a go because I at least know he'll be great at the very least.
Still, stay angry and disappointed, it looks good on you.

Been watching SAS Rogue Hero’s which has been fantastic. Just bought series 2 on Amazon Prime. I’m about to watch This City is Ours. Every Scouser says it’s brilliant though some of the accents are shit, so the Mrs is going to give it the once over, and Rivals, which after one episode wasn’t for me. She likes it though.

I have been catching up on earlier shows that I had missed recently.
I really liked Sugar on Apple TV with Colin Farrel,l LA detective series with a spin. It’s a pity they never did another series.
The other one I am enjoying is Undercover on Netlfix, a Dutch/Belgium show. It may take a couple of episodes but I am hooked on it now. Not the run of the mill police/drugs prodecure, I would definately would recommend.
Luckily there are 3 seasons and I bet it gets remade in the US or here.

It was based on a black muslim lad (now denied after all the media coverage by the writer) but yeah, its all cool, as Stephen Graham is Jamaican now and suffered racial abuse as a kid.
