Swiss - Admit it, you just wanted to swoon over the old timers Pitt and Clooney :-)

I see Pitt is making an F1 type film, bet it ain't as good as Days of Thunder!

I saw a really lovely film last night called Thelma.

Thelma (played by the always brilliant June Squib) gets $10,000 swindled out of her in an Internet scam, goes to Richard Roundtree's old people's home to borrow his mobility scooter, another old bird's for her gun and goes to get her money back.

Lots of tiny nods to Tom Cruise Mission impossible films and the fact that young people get too pampered until they feel that they are useless.

It's a nice hour and a half not thinking about the shitty state of the world, a bit like football used to be.

John Ashton has died, noooo, absolutely brilliant as Marvin is Midnight Run.
Midnight Run is a great film.  I remember being shocked that De Niro could do comedy.

If you come across a movie called Killer Heat then avoid at all costs. Although Shailene Woodley is gorgeous.

Just watched the Beverly Hills Cop reboot.  I enjoyed it more than I thought I would as the original is fairly iconic - and when that music kicks in...

Delighted to read that although it's a good year away "Nobody 2" is in the works.  If nobody has seen er "Nobody" then I highly recommend, a thoroughly enjoyable action flick.

Alfs - Have you seen / heard of Daddio, a film this year with Sean Penn, just filmed entirely in his cab with one female passenger? Looks a bit shitty.

I'm still thinking about Close Range from 86, can't believe I only just watched it. A great film based on a shocking true crime story, and embodies the 80's beautifully, and Madonna's live to tell soundtrack.

Blink Twice is worth a watch. An allegorical tale of how rich men feel it's fine to rape and abuse women.  Quite pertinent with all of the Fayed shit hitting the fan.

I watched James McAvoy's latest offering Speak No Evil, it's a remake from the Danish version in 2022. Bit of a daft plot, but it kept me interested and McAvoy is very convincing as the bad guy.

I watched Longlegs the other night which I thought was quite good if you like serial killer movies with a twist at the end.

I was on a high speed cross channel ferry about 5-6 years ago (Poole to Cherbourg I think) and Hugh Grant (and his very attractive companion) got on and sat a couple of rows in front.

He was left to his own devises, very refreshingly not one person 'bothered him' and he made no effort to hide away, up and about several times during the crossing, queuing with everyone else to get off. Seemed perfectly normal to me although the Ferrari wasn't too shabby.
