Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Window this close season comes in two parts:

Part 1: 1st June to 10th June
Part 2: 16th June to 1st September

Was it really wise to spend so much on another Left Back, only time will tell..

Ideally it leads to excellent competition between them and neither 1 gets the hump not getting enough playing time.
The priority must be to ship Emerson out now.  No point in having him in the squad now we've bought another left back.

Diouf will be missing for a chunk of this season at the stupid African cup, so we'll need Scarles to fill in then, I guess.

Really can't understand why we've signed Diouf when we're so WELL STOCKED at LB, eh Trundle.

Scarles was relatively solid but seemed reluctant to go past his man
Not sure if that was under instructions or what
Got a chasing from Salah (not a surprise) & got taken out after that
Hopefully he learnt a lot that day

I think that Scarles true position on the pitch is actually as a deep lying centre midfield player on the left side of 3 in the middle. He can only get better by learning his role at left-back and do a good job there when required and called upon but I certainly see him as a midfielder on long term basis.

I suppose if he ever recovers, Summerville can play RWB.

Mental he's been out injured longer than Antonio was with a fucking hamstring (or whatever it was) tear.

It's not only him, but AWB also.

We'll likely need a right back to come in and cover him.

Or the plan is to play a formation with no fullbacks/wingbacks during that time.

Diouf is versatile too. Can play LCB and left midfield.. A dream for Potter who could shoe horn an extra defensive player in..

I think towards the end of the season Scarles looked a bit shakier and maybe lost that confidence to drive forward as much as he did first few games. Potter might have told him to stop doing it as much and slow it down? Who knows but I think he will be a solid backup once Emerson goes

Was TGV a full back or a winger? In any case the cսnt got signed by Real Madrid and when he was introduced, the legend that was Di Stefano, looked at him in utter bemusement.

I assume that's Kyle Macauley (Head of Recruitment)
It's not Macauley. As another poster added it's probably one of Sullivans mates.

It's Diouf's agent.

Or was it spelt Pantsil..

Can't remember what he used to wear. The last player I remember dressing in traditional colourful gear was Andre Ayew who had a head shaped like a hot air balloon.

Ah, Ilunga! One absolutely great season then just turned to utter shit. That was so weird. Schemmel was similar wasn't he?
Jenkinson as well?

Us and full backs.

Fucking superb outfit. If he plays as snappy as he dresses I'll be happy.

Definitely got the touch of the flamboyant about him to pull that off. It's the clothing equivalent of a flash player with a funky hair do.

I note on some socials today that Fullkrug could be on his way. Looks like another season with the bouncer up front. And after he snapped his thigh in his car so he will probably be about three yards slower than the two yards he had lost anyway.

Elliot is an interesting one. No doubt a good player. The ankle break a concern although young enough to heal as strong as the bone was. Would bring an extra dynamic element to the team but only if we don't get absolutely bent over and bummed on price. £40m seems a hell of a alot.

I also see the rumours of us getting Arnau Martinez (Girona right back) are growing in pace and substance. Allegedly Girona has told us the release clause is £15m and player is up for the move. Potter looking to add depth to the RB area.
