May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.
Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?
Window this close season comes in two parts:
Part 1: 1st June to 10th June

Forest were ridiculed on here for their transfer strategy, Them and Villa so close to relegation and look at them both now. We had a massive chance to kick on but between Sullivan and Moyes we weren't brave enough to take it.
It makes me feel sick knowing we paid £40m for Kilman only to see Milenkovic, who is a far, far better player, move at a fraction of that price to them.

Shame that Elanga going to Newcastle definitely puts them out of the running to make a Kudus bid. Expect Spurs to hold their ground now and wait for Sullivan to inevitably cave in to a lowball offer.
Yes, I think the only positive would be Madueke going to Arsenal might reignite Chelsea's appetite- if it happens. Kudus would need his head examined if he just dismissed them in favour of spurs.
Sullivan has to be prepared to be strong and play hardball over this with a longer term view and even tell the player he can't leave as the valuation hasn't been met (well played Brentford over Mbuemo), but as you say he won't, because he can't see or strategise past any current transfer window especially financially and will always grab at any money immediately rather than be patient or speculate to accumulate, to the detriment of the club both in terms of buying and selling.
I agree regarding Brentford. Sullivan is miles away from that level of intelligence though.
By the time he sells Kudus on the cheap to Spurs, most of Potter's targets would have been sold, I'd imagine.

Forest another club putting us to shame and absolutely leapfrogging us in not only footballing terms but recruitment and strategy terms.
Buy Elanga for 16 mill, sell for 55 mill then immediately go after a promising PSV winger they've been tracking as a ready made, cheaper and younger replacement. That's the way to do it. Yeah it might fall apart for them next season but even they are making far more positive and forward thinking moves than us.
Depressing isn't it, trouble with us is we sometimes take a step in the right direction and immediately panic and revert to the same all boring default position because things didn't fall into place quick enough. I would 100% welcome relegation and all the risks involved with it if it meant getting rid of the board and hoping things will be different going forward
Too fucking right. I feel like we've stumbled blindly into a few good situations in the past 5-10 years and spectacularly blown it when the time came to consolidate, invest and grow. Complacency and impatience from the owner as well as going down foolish paths too often.

I think the release clause only lasts 10 days (1-10 July) What the fucking point of that is, I don't know. Surely any team interested just waits until 11th and then offers less.
Perhaps the anticipation was that there would be an absolute frenzy for his signature immediately in the window. Maybe if he'd had a better season, there would have been.
But it seems utterly pointless having a release clause that's only applicable for ten days, if what I've read is correct.
No you've got this the wrong way around, it means we don't have to accept £85 million out of that window. If he had carried on the same trajectory as first half season we would have been forced to sell him for that, if out of that window we would say nope, more or we keep him.. It's totally in our favour
We can sell him for what we want under that anytime it was to stop us selling him for less than we wanted to.
Ahhh. Yup, gotcha. Looking at the other side of the same coin

Never particularly taken to Kudus with stupid goal celebrations (or non-celebrations). However, there's definitely a player there. Was great first season but like many players last season, looked lost most of the time. I think he'd do well in a better side and it's inconceivable that we would sell to Spurs. Sullivan has conveniently forgotten that he would never deal with them again? He's got way too comfortable since the Burnley days to think it's even an option. I can see him doing well there and if we don't beat Sunderland first game of the season, every game suddenly looks a struggle for points for a while. Ultimately, Kudus has the release clause and we should be saying it's that or nothing at all for Spurs. Suddenly the Chelsea cash plus a couple of players deal looks golden in comparison. I'd rather us keep an unhappy Kudus than sell for £50-60 million to Spurs. How is it time and time again we end up selling our best players for a pittance because they're unhappy? Arnautovic and Payet were at their peak and we sold them for peanuts because they threw a strop. About time we showed some balls than bend over again and again

Disappointed to hear that from you, frase.
I expected as much from the phony eye-tie.
Why, a Saudi couldn't be any more despicable than Sullivan and can definitely be more ambitious, they'd be in it to improve us not to milk us for everything they can.

whats the difference? we have a British piece of shit running the club, at least they might actually invest in the club and run it properly.
politics aside, you cannot knock what the lot at Newcastle have done.
i know Turki al-sheikh has been linked with a few clubs recently including the 'wall.
on his own he prob isnt rich enough (just the £2bn), but he is very well connected.

I used to feel quite proud of being one of the very few British owned Premier League clubs before Kretinsky rocked up.
Now that he's here and done pretty much SFA, I'd be quite happy for anyone to come in to take over from the current mob if they are in any way competent.
