Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.
Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?
Window this close season comes in two parts:
Part 1: 1st June to 10th June

I reckon, along with Kudus, that Alvarez will be another player we let go on the cheap that we come to regret.
He has just been voted player of the tournament at the Gold Cup.

I'm taking some satisfaction knowing Sullivan will be sat in his high chair pretty uncomfortably at the moment.

Anyone see this?
I kind of get the sentiments but not sure if anyone can really be arsed!

We'd never have been able to afford Duran's salary anyway. Don't know what Fenerbache are playing at but they're apparently offering big wages to people these days: over £200k per week for the likes of Jadon Sancho and Leroy Sane.

Not to do this to death, as we’re not going to agree...
I think that's the only thing you got right there. swtoc.
In any case, we'll see if he's as good as I think he is when we see how he performs at his next club, which hopefully won't be Spurs or Chelsea or one of the other clubs playing in the Champions League, who weirdly think he's good enough for them.

It's inevitable. They even mention us in his leaving post.

It's not a slightly different position though, is it? Switching sides is fine for some players, not for others. AWB can play LB, Coufal couldn't. Depends massively on their style of play. All this shit about how much they earn is irrelevant. I don't give a toss about him being "uppity". If he's playing shit because of the position he's played in then a big happy smile on his face won't change a fucking thing anyway.
Not to do this to death, as we’re not going to agree, but I’m not asking him to be thrilled and smiley. I’m asking to be a professional and do the best he can rather than play like a cսnt because he’s having a tantrum. There is no reason he shouldn’t be able to do a job on the left, save for the fact he’s got a massive chip on his shoulder. If he genuinely can’t, there is not a chance he’s as good as you seem to think he is.
I think the reality this season is he got sussed out. Capable of the brilliant at times clearly, but he’s pretty predictable otherwise.
As for his behaviour around the Spurs flirting, that should tell you all you need to know about his character.

Gotcha. Didn't pick up the tone in the post. I did think of all people on here, there is no way you'd think he'd still be at the club unless you'd had a bump on the head.

I'd like him to be.
But no, I don't think he will.
It was a joke.

Some good news for once this close season.
Ghana haven't qualified for the AFCON, so Kudus will be available for us while that's being played.

Overpaid and massively over the hill? No thanks.
Just our type of signing

Keeping Coufal would've made more sense than signing Walker.

No offence to Bowen, but we really need a leader on the pitch.

The only thing that has really surprised me so far this window is that we weren't in for kyle Walker. He ticks so many boxes for our chairman. I can only assume that Walker made it clear he didnt want to move south.
Kyle Walker - I agree would have been a decent signing. That said, due to his Spurs connections there would have been dissenters for that reason.

Saying that, transfermarkt have him valued at 20m EUR so if anything Sullivan has gone in above his market value.
Parma need a realty check if they're asking for £45m.

Just read we bid 25 mill for that Parma keeper they value at 45 mill.
They told us to fuck off.
Of course they did.
Embarrassing from Sullivan yet again.
I don't know why we'd be looking at a goalkeeper valued at £45m in the first place.

I’m referring to last season, when he clearly threw his toys out of the pram being asked to play on the left.
It wasn’t Paqueta’s chosen position the season prior either, but he just got on with it.
You know the two players are completely different, right? Paqueta didn't suddenly play as a left winger, running with the ball, bunging crosses in, etc. He played his own game, same as he does in the centre, fancy tricks, slick passing, careless giving the ball away. It made little difference to him that he was played wider. In some ways he might have preferred it as he linked up well with Emerson.
Kudus, on the other hand, his whole game is about running with the ball TOWARDS the goal. Not away from it. Not running it to the corner flag or being pushed sideways or backwards as the defender knows how to play him (which is what mostly happened). I don't blame him for getting an attitude about it. I blame the idiots in charge for not seeing what a piss poor decision it was to play him there again and again and again.
Lopetegui in particular should have put Bowen up front with Kudus on the right rather than playing the completely ineffectual Antonio in the centre. Potter I could understand a bit more as he doesn't like that sort of direct running anyway. He probably actually liked Kudus just keeping the ball and running backwards and sideways with it. Got to keep those possession stats up.
You don’t have an issue with a bloke being paid about £100k a week getting all uppity about being asked to play in a slightly different position for the team? The same prick who is now pining for a move to Tottenham? Will you clap him when he comes back?
