"Can't be feeling sorry for ourselves as we've been lucky with injuries so far and we've known about AFCON for ages. Todays game is meant to be all be about the squad, but mainly due to Moyes fucking up rotation ,so therefore making our squad players low in confidence and not match sharp, plus they are generally pretty shit, it's hard to have ay confidence they will step up. A draw might be looking OK in this one."

"No Kudus ( now confirmed apparently ), no Paqueta, no Aguerd and possibly no Zouma too or at least he is doubtful. The CB cover would be Oggy and Stavros again but there is no cover for Kudus or Paqueta that comes close. Cornet is a decent technician and has some pace but has been ostracised and will be far from match fit. It will be Benrahma and Fornals. Brighton I watched last week, young players, very fast, relentless pressing. Another Alamo needed as at Arsenal to get anything?"

They will want revenge for the game at their place and fair play to them for giving youth game time.

"twotwat not writing us off at all. Depends on who wants it most. The player that comes in for Paqueta will have to give a 8/10 no less. Can't see Moyes usual two of Benrhama or Fornals doing a job. They've been negated by Moyes. Perhaps the one who could is Cornet,he has pace and can cross by beating a man. Maybe if he was given a start it could work. We're at home,we should be attacking more but it maybe a repeat of Man U but we're playing a team who score a lot of goals."

"I thought Kudus was available, then he's off to Africa straight after the game? Can't remember were i saw or read it (Hammers chat maybe) but seemed like it was kosher! Paqueta though, seems unlikely but from what i have seen about his injury, it's not looking serious or long term. fingers crossed... Anyway, i think we are on a run, so 3 points and 3-0 COYI"

"IF we win this we are going to give ourselves a big chance of top 6, I think it's Sheff Utd after this one too."

"This is a win-win game. If we win/draw we put some light between us and Man U. If Brighton win they pop above Man U in the table. Newcastle are at Liverpool, so forget the chance of them climbing the table this week."

"solid https://www.ghanafa.org/black-stars-to-train-behind-closed-doors-in-kumasi Ghana not meeting up till Jan 2. Fifa rules stipulate that clubs must release players on 1 January for the Africa Cup of Nations, beginning in the Ivory Coast on 13 January, and the Asian Cup, which gets underway in Qatar a day earlier. Both tournaments last a month, so any players who go all the way to the… FIFA rules state “players must be released and start travel to their representative team no later than Monday morning the week preceding the week when the relevant final competition starts.” The Confederation of African Football (CAF) said they are following this guidance. The tournament starts on Sunday, January 13th, meaning Monday 1st January is the date players will be required to leave their clubs. Discussions between clubs and national FAs are likely to centre on an interpretation of the rules. The vast majority of nations (20 of the 24) start their tournament between January 14th and 17th and therefore it could be argued that a later date of the 3rd is suitable. “Clubs and associations concerned may agree a longer period of release or different arrangements,” is the caveat in the FIFA rules that clubs may lean on. However, FIFA have confirmed that, as it stands, the start day of individual teams’ tournaments won’t change the original date for when teams need to report. “FIFA can confirm that the release period for this competition is governed by article 1 paragraph 7 of annexe 1 of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players (RSTP), which in this case provides a release date of 1st January. This is applicable to all teams regardless of when they play their first match.” cityam.com City A.M. | London's Business Newspaper - News, Opinion,"

Paqueta out Mitoma out equal Kudus in Estepinan in us they'll stick attack us and with out Paquets to keep the ball and retain the ball we'll be over run without some one coming in playing the game off his life. maybe Zouma Can play left wing

"If Kudus is indeed available that’s good news. However, Paqueta’s absence suggests this is one of those home fixtures where a Moyes approach is justified. And yes, I agree this will be at least as tough as the Arsenal game."

"Someone said on another thread that Paqueta said on his Instagram that he should be back in about a week, so unlikely for this game. For me it's an ideal opportunity to bring Antonio back in, but he will probably only last an hour."

If we can win this we will give ourselves a big chance of a top 6 finish. Think Brighton have a few out including Dunk.

I think Antonio on the left is a better option on the left than Bennie if fit. I think he will have something to prove with Bowen and Kudos playing so well and us improving without him playing.

Is paqueta definitely out? . Haven’t heard anything definitive either way….. Anyhow this will likely be another game where we need to defend and counter. Worked a treat in the reverse fixture and we’re due beating this lot at home but fear it will be far from easy. Head says this is a draw.

"They seem to be in form right now too. Could be a high scoring affair. Personally I think this will be tougher than the Arsenal game. Paqueta being out hurts us of course but we have several quality players and we know how to defend. I’m sticking to my guns, another solid performance by us and a 2-1 win and a great game of football. COYI’s"

"No Paqueta, central midfield against another team that passes and presses relentlessly? Would we accept another ""Alamo"" style low block defensive performance to get a result? I think we will need to play that way so might need some pins for our eyes :-) Not sure how we play any other way effectively ( pass thru the press etc ) with a midfield comprising Soucek and Benrahma. Is Antonio ready as a sub option yet? WIll Cornet get more than 5 mins?"
