"TM - I agree. I've always thought that about the draft system and the perverse incentives it creates. On the whole I agree with the idea that the worst sides get first picks etc. That's a decent, simple, principle to try to keep the sport competitive. But they do need to have a system in place to stop obvious abuse of that principle. No professional sports team should set out with the aim of losing - and to provide an incentibve for it, without any reprimand - just seems odd. That call last night was disgraceful. Hermit's right - they could have found other ways to lose games. But Darnold and a few others are playing for their places, so probably want to win. So TIG and Williams get an opportunity to lose it late - and take it. Word is they are both on their bike the moment the season ends. Bonuses/due payments will no doubt be paid up."

An all-out blitz in which everybody bar the man-to-man coverage was committed to attacking the QB! On 3rd and 10?! It was basically the NFL equivalent of being 1-0 up in the last minute, with possession in Man Utd's half and smacking a 60 yarder backwards into your own net! And they are STILL claiming that they're not trying to lose. Hahahaha! I feel really sorry for Sam Darnold. Despite Gase being the worst NFL coach in the history of the game, Darnold still has talent. He's obviously playing for his place next season (thinking we'll draft Lawrence) and played well last night. Puts the team on the edge of its first victory for almost a year - and then Gregg Williams or Gase (both of whom signed to receive in-season bonuses this week - ahem!) call 'that' play?! What a clusterfuck my team is. It's a good job West Ham have been doing well, broadly speaking, this season. I'd be suicidal otherwise..."
