NFL (since 2016)

"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"Strange times in the old fantasy league. I'm in two - the WHO one I've now lost 5 straight, even having the 3rd highest score didn't save me this week. Steelers defence roughed me up with 18 points. In my non-WHO one I've won 5 straight after losing the first 6! Fins lost too - best not be so sloppy against the Jets. Be just typical for them to gift the Jets their first win."

"On the officiating. One weird play I saw in the highlights. Brady threw two passes on one play. Pretty sure that is a penalty and a loss of down like grounding. I read the Rams declined. But should not have needed to? Not sure if that is on the officials or the Rams staff not knowing the rules. Anyway, was a Rams fan last night. 2 1/2 games up on Bucs and the Saints control the road to the bye. Cheers."

"Grumpster - exactly. It's one of the least notable of the BLM achievements, to say the least! ""And now we're proud to announce that every advert during this NFL game has been voiced by a black, native American, one-legged, lesbian actress, or gender neutral actor, with a hair lip and a slight stutter...and I think I'm right in saying, Jon, that's an NFL first...?"""

"Full set of black officials in the game. I mean i never know if I'm missing something, but who gives a shit? Fans only care about them doing a good job, don't get why a thing is made of it when all I actually wanted when watching the highlights was to see the plays!"

"southbank Cheers I, as a rural kid, was wowed by the flashiness of New Orleans when I was a wanna-be jazz musician on a school trip. Not sure what that says about me. Aside from that I respect old-school, in the trenches, teams. I feel like the Packers were that and the Steelers back in the day. Played line the little bit I played in high school. Hitting people is fun. My favourite Saint to this point, Kyle Turley was a blue collar line guy."

"Irons - the Steelers are all about whether Roethlisberger's knees and back can hold up. He still has an absolute cannon for an arm, despite surgeries, and when he's hitting people like Claypool in the deep then any opponent will struggle. They are a decent all-round team, both offensively and defensively. Good players in all key positions. They always seem to scout and draft well. But as has been the case since 2005, Roethlisberger;s fitness is the thing that lifts them to SB contenders or not. Savvy, savvy coach Mike Tomlin. Feels like he was appointed five minutes ago, but he's been in the job for 13 years now and has seen it all. He's still only 48 years-old, too. If I had not been won over by the Jets' mental fans on an early trip to Gotham, I probably would have been a Steelers fan. Either them or the Browns. I like the hardened blue collar cities."

That Thielen catch was amazing. CeeDee Lamb's was also phenomenal. Quite funny that everyone else was struggling to make easy catches!
