"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"Am guessing just over 30 years ago John Madden came out on the mega drive or whatever it was then. Were 8 of us who always played it, so we stuck every team name in a hat and picked one each and that decided our lifetimes team. Started well, but fuck me then there were some seriously barren years. Teams picked were:- Niners Bengals Giants Jets Bears Chiefs Saints Oilers Try and get over there occasionally and the last time was when we were fairly crap and kaepernick was literally boo'd for about 2 hours, was hilarious."

"*bitter Another huge story that's developing, the chiefs have sent their equipment to new jersey rather than new england by mistake, they would have to forfeit the game if it doesnt make it there on time!!!"

"Saints a different offence since that dirty hit took cook out of the game, he's their 2nd best receiving threat as proved by his 2tds early (maybe a bit jutter that i have him in fantasy) What the hell is going on with the texans?! Battered the pats last week now getti f absolutely humiliated by the broncos and a QB making his 2nd ever start!"

"Shame we gave away those 2 poor early TD's. Mostert is becoming some player, hopefully not just a flash in the pan."

wtf happened to 9ers pass rush? Benching Brees does not appear to be the wisest of decisions in retrospect.

"Today is the anniversary of John Lennon's death, this is how it unfolded on Monday night football in the US, the game was the Patriots v Dolphins and the Patriots kicker, Englishman John Smith was about to take a kick, commentary was Howard Cosell, Frank Gifford and Fran Tarkenton: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gcdz1IRVoM&feature=youtu.be&fbclid=IwAR15oDCg4L6QsabuIqJfvC8F8Azr1wNB_Q5VWqy57VpJM91wcpy3P7IT_Ck"

"Daniel Jones has a high anle sprain so Eli Manning will be most likely seeing out the season for what may be his last every appearances in the NFL. How this guy won 2 superbowls i have no clue, he has a record of 116-116 overall, bet hes dreading having to play and finishing with a losing record in his career."

"Yeah with the safety changes for kickoffs where you're not allowed a running start and cant overload one side it has made onside kicks almost impossible, feel like they didnt take it into consideration properly when changing the rule."

"On the subject of special teams, I did like this from the commentator in the Falcons/Saints game: ""Onside kick coming. 3 successful in the league this year"" Followed by 3 successful onside kicks in a row."

"They've kind of faded Kickoffs out of the game due to safety concerns, with them having the extra 5-10 yards on the kickoff now you'll end up with touchbacks 95% of the time, unless on occasion a team like the Pats will make it a tactic to kick it high and a bit shorter by which time the coverage is right on top of the returner by the time he's caught it."

"the 'special team' isn't just about field goals, their most important role is maintaining field position and making it as hard as possible for the opposition offense on the next drive/possession. on the other side, it can also be an attacking advantage if you have a kick returner like hester, who scored tds but returners like him are rare"
