Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Window this close season comes in two parts:

Part 1: 1st June to 10th June

"Timber is often injured, it's a big NO from me."

That's because he's always being chopped down by the opposition.

Report: Juventus turn to affordable West Ham midfielder

Juventus have reportedly identified experienced West Ham United man Guido Rodriguez as a potential solution for their midfield dilemma.

The Bianconeri have already offloaded Douglas Luiz who joined Nottingham Forest, but they have yet to bring in reinforcement.

In recent months, the Serie A giants have been linked with various profiles, including Yves Bissouma, Morten Hjulmand, and Matt O’Riley, but they haven’t been able to make a breakthrough on any of these tracks. Hence, Damien Comolli and Francois Modest continue to explore potential solutions.
Juventus set sights on West Ham’s Guido Rodriguez

According to Tuttosport via IlBianconero, Rodriguez has become the latest name to land on Juve’s shortlist.

The 31-year-old is a River Plate youth product who went on to make a name for himself in Mexico with Club Tijuana and America.

In January 2020, the Argentinian finally arrived in Europe, signing for Real Betis. After four and a half successful years in Andalosia, he was close to joining Barcelona last summer, but the deal eventually fell through, and he ended up at West Ham.

The midfielder’s settling in East London wasn’t entirely smooth, so he only ended up making 24 appearances for the Hammers across all competitions.

Therefore, the Turin-based newspaper believes that West Ham would be willing to offload him for €10 million.
What to expect from Guido Rodriguez

Rodriguez’s style of play might not be appealing to the eye, but he has often been appreciated by managers his physicality, tactical discipline and never-say-die attitude. In Spain, he earned the nickname ‘little Gattuso’, which perfectly depicts his willingness to sacrifice himself for the cause.

The Sáenz Peña native is also a favourite of Argentina’s head coach, Lionel Scaloni. He was part of the squad that won back-to-back Copa America trophies in 2021 and 2024, and more importantly, the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Timber is totally different profile...more an 8/ball carrier than a tough tackling type.

Concern for me is Magassa is 21 and likely to not hit the ground running.  Sangare no such concerns there.

Probably been mentioned but understood the hold up on Sangare is us wanting a loan with an option & Forest wanting an obligation to buy

Happy with Fernandes but surely we can give JWP back as part of the deal as Southampton have less than a week to get a replacement

Feel like we need that more than Timber...we can't rely on Magassa hitting the ground running, and Sangare is oven ready (plus would let us play a two man midfield alongside Magassa).

Hopefully given Forest are open to a deal of some sort it's one that comes good last minute.

But lets be real...this is all a bit of "I'm up against the wall here RAZZLE DAZZLE" from Sullivan....even if this turns out ok and our season get's rescued we still need to turn up the heat on the prick.  He's made us totally unsustainable and unrelateable.
Have to say, I know next to nothing about Sangare, other than he’s a big fucking unit and quick into the tackle/likes to put his foot in. Which probably puts him above all other DMs we currently have!

He’s fallen out of favour at Forest, it seems, mostly because they have about three thousand players. So I’ve only seen him a few times. First impressions were that he’s decent.

Looked like we’d have to pony up 40 million for Fernandes anyway. Yes it’s a lot but it’s worth it if we get 6-7 years of good solid play out of him or he excels and we cop a rice-esque or at least a big fee for for him. It’s a better bet than 30 million for a 28 year old.

it’s good we are finally moving for players lke the penny has dropped for Sullivan that we will go down regardless of who the manager is if we do not invest in the squad.

Now a centre back of some quality and a young striker please.

Fuck knows why it took all this impending disaster for the board to finally open their dusty old wallets.

Agree that we’re overspending on Fernandes.

He’s an upgrade on the likes of Rodriguez and JWP, I’m sure. And I hope he does really well here. Welcome to the mad house, and good luck to him. We need him to settle quickly and improve us.

Nothing against us signing him.

But, having spoken to a Southampton mate about him quite a lot, he’s probably about £10m more than we should spend. Notice that almost nobody else was in for him at the price we’ve paid. That’s always a big clue.

We are not good at this sort of thing. But we all know that: we’re run by feckless eejuts.

Get Akanji for £15m

We need a number 10 and  a Striker still

*assuming these 2 CM's arrive.

Can't say Fernandes stood out much last season, he was pivotal in the worst side in PL history for me given how much they had spent etc.
