"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"And thank fuck my old man is having a hip replacement today, means I can work from home all week and pretend that he needs me so I can catch up on sleep, as I'm too old to get by on 1 hour nowadays. Let's go Niners, feels like the Harbaugh era of playing proper physical football."

"Jimmy G needs to improve, though after only 14 career starts (ridiculously less than Mayfield) that'll obviously be happening. Kittle's yards after catch and being tackled are incredible and Juszeck (fuck knows how you spell it) is worth his weight in gold to the offense and well worth his monster pay packet. We love a monday night game, makes it 49 wins on an mnf which is the best around. 22mph Breida ran for the first TD. Whoosh."

"Niners are legit! Dominant D... Dominant Run Game... Dominant Tight End and a more than capable pass game. Get our snapper back after his suspension and our kicking game will be back on track. Look out, we are back! Not sure who in the NFC is better."

And Bosa showing why he was the best player in the draft. Blokes a beast.

"Dont have us down as real contenders just yet, but the play offs should at least probably happen and our overall running game and defence are excellent. Would like a real quality WR, dont feel like we've had one for a while."

"11MDE 2:59 Mon Oct 7 ""Looking forward to Wembley in a few weeks."" I am just happy that the Bucs get that as a home game (and seeing Arians get red faced, more red faced about it) and that both those NFC south teams have to travel. Keeps the division soft while Brees is out."

"Went yesterday, it was a decent enough game, even though I wanted a Bears win. In the terms of the ground, it's nowhere near big enough for NFL. the view is so steep and quite disorientating. No room there for a proper tailgate either which was a shame. Looking forward to Wembley in a few weeks."

"crystal, as much as I dislike snyder/allen, they never picked the team but like everyone else bar gruden, realised we needed a QB, with Smith crippled and Mccoy/Keenum useless. if he'd made an effort with Haskins, he may have survived with a losing season but he wasn't interested and even treated peterson like crap"

"TM - we've got this great head coach you can have. His CV is incredible...knows the east coast well, having coached two east coast teams previously...er...got bog-eyes...er...um...grew a beard...um...got a clipboard...surname is easy to spell...um...all those other achievements. He's a shoo in for you guys, no problem. I mean, we'll be REALLY sorry to see him go - but if you do insist on such a generous offer to take him off our hands..."

He obviously wasnt doing well at all but must be an almost impossible situation to try and coach in with the GM and even the owner undermining you contstantly and trying to dictate who plays.

"Adam Gase's last seven NFL games. - Loss: 41-17 to Minnesota (Miami) - Loss: 17-7 to Jacksonville (Miami) - Loss: 42-17 to Buffalo (Miami) - Loss: 17-16 to Buffalo (Jets) - Loss: 23-3 to Cleveland (Jets) - Loss: 30-14 to New England (Jets) - Loss: 31-6 to Philadelphia (Jets) Four total offensive TDs in those seven games. And he's supposed to be an offense ""specialist""! He's an offence specialist in the same way that Gary Breen was a defence ""specialist""."

"Twas ever thus, lab. We're the West Ham of the NFL: the fans turn out in their droves despite the shit served up on the pitch every year. The only good thing about the Jets is their fans. I like the fact that they don't take themselves too seriously, because they've seen so much crap down the years. One year in the late 1980s (so I'm talking post-sack exchange), the Jets had built a pretty decent side (O'Brien at QB, Toon at WR etc) and started the season 10-1. Everybody outside of New York was talking about a Super Bowl. But the fans had seen it all before. In typical Jets fashion, the wheels came off the bus and they lost five in a row to finish the regular season 10-6. Despite that, they stumbled into the play-offs - and promptly got stuffed. Happens all the time!"

"For years I've supported the Jets ,every season I hope things are going to look up. I feel sorry for their fans paying good money for this dross."

"Honestly, they have been like that in every game so far this season - and every game in pre-season. It's self-evident that Gase does not have a clue what he's doing. My biggest fear, in a way, is that Darnold will come back soon and save Gase's job by winning four or five games for him out of the remaining 12, just about managing for Gase to keep his job for next season. So we might end up having two wasted seasons and not just this one. Darnold is a superb young quarterback, and Gase is damn lucky that he's on the roster when his spleen recovers. You get the impression that any ""progress"" the Jets make this year (slim chance!) will not be down to the head coach. Admit the error, sack the twonk, admit the error and make Williams the interim HC for the rest of the season - with a view to giving him the permanent job longer-term."
