The transfer value of our squad is about 8th in the premier league with a small number of players making up a big part of that value. We are about 9th in the wages bill but might need to increase that as certain players leave. Over the last three years we may well be at about our level and spending more might get us more but you definitely need the right coaching staff to achieve that. Bearing in mind Moyes is one of the longest serving managers in the league there is not much room for error for any manager. Personally I find Moyes grounded and realistic and honest. I also believe he likes to work with grown ups.

"When Brentfird and Brighton make two European semi finals yout point might stand, for a manager that's not gone with the times he has done pretty well over the past 3 years. Yes it's been frustrating this year, but there are many factors. We have had injuries to key players while juggling Thursday/Sunday every week. New players have taken time to get up to speed in this league, but are now showing their worth."

"I'm pretty generous with cutting managers slack and was probably toward the tail end of flipping over to Moyes out, but even though things are looking better than they have, there's too much water under the bridge for him to stay even if we finish strong and win the UEL. It's clear the players don't like his tactics, we don't like them and it feels like a marriage of convenience until the end of the season. Our only real shot of retaining Scamacca Paqueta and (long shot) Rice for any amount of time will hinge on Moyes leaving, I believe. He's put the handbrake on all of them and I don't think he's capable of removing it. I'd imagine several others are considering their future should he stay as well. Everyone needs a fresh start and it will be a good time to part ways amicably. Also now we are staying up, I assume a sale will finally go through and Kretinsky or whoever takes over will want to move on and start fresh. Also key in any attempt to convince Rice to stick around. I get the impression he loves the club and doesn't want to leave, but knows he has to as things stand. A new start, new manager and hopefully a big transfer kitty could sway him at least short term."

"I don't think West Ham fans care who the manager is. But we do want to see a little bit of intent to win matches and to play with a bit of style. Moyes himself says he sets his teams up to be hard to beat, that's his philosophy. 6th, 7th and two European semi finals are great, and he is regarded highly for that. Football tactics and the modern game is moving on, Moyes unfortunately isn't and we'll continue to go backwards if he stays. Having 30% possession each week, being outplayed by most teams and seeing the likes of Brighton and Brentford get better than us shouldn't be acceptable."

He did well with what we had and then did poorly when given a whole lot more. I will give him credit for what he did and especially if he can motivate and manage the squad to win the first real trophy in my non-infant memory. But with what we want to do and what we can do - it needs to be someone else going forward.

"Because in 40 years we have not had it much better than this, we have a quality team. If Zouma and Aguerd were fit from the off this wouldn't even be a discussion. Players that people on here were writing off 6 months ago are now showing how good they are, I think Scamacca will show the same next season. We sack Moyes and jump on the managerial merry go round, someone else comes in a tears the whole thing up and the club never moves on. The simple fact is some of our fanbase have never wanted him, even a European trophy won't change their minds."

What's supporting the club for 40 years (like most on here) got to do with a manager being unprofessional in his role and admitting this?

Another season of dithering Dave selecting Soucek and Cresswell each week with potentially no Rice would see us go down

"I've supported the club for 40 years I'll take 6th , 7th and two European semi finals. I won't be losing sleep over a pre season, the same shit is flung at every manager we have had in the past 20 years."

"Stick with Moyes and we will be a different team next season. The new players are showing their worth now, a couple of decent additions and we will be top 6 again."

"Surely no one has changed their mind based on one half of football? The man has overseen one of the worst league seasons in the clubs history, when you consider the unprecedented spending. He deserved to be sacked in October, and he absolutely has to be sacked in the summer."

"I'm in the Moyes out camp. He's spent almost £200 mill and we've gone backwards, from being a top 7 side over 2 seasons to relegation candidates. We never have more possession than other teams and set up negatively most matches. However, I'm starting to think he'll stay after the waving he did to the board last night. If we win a Euro trophy then I think even more Sullivan will keep him on."

"TWO Moyes was still Moyes,he got lucky with the subs. Antonio hardly did anything the last 20 minutes. Cornet should have come on and stretched Manu. The players played for themselves and fans again. Despite of Moyes instead of because of him. We just lost 3 on the trot and we should never be in this situation. You're a Moyes fan,go follow him where ever he goes."

"Credit where its due. It was a memorable performance for this season. The players and Moyes stepped up and got us the result that almost certainly secures our PL status. Rice, again, outstanding with the others close behind."

"Moyes got it right last night and it was brilliant, but has made so many fuck ups over the last 18 months it's unforgivable, the 200m spent to make us worse, calling out our away support, stubbornness in playing the same out of form players in wrong positions and then saying to his media chums that everyone is an expert when questioned. For me I'd like him gone as soon as we're safe from going down, wouldn't even give him the European games if possible so he can keep up his winning fuck all title."

"WD40 Yes I remember 86 too and the style of football we played then is from a different universe compared to the dross Moyes provides us.. yes we get games like yesterday, but even when we were riding high a couple of seasons ago we were winning games but the style of play and the performances were rotten we won games we didn't deserve to and it wasn't great to watch..but we didn't really care cos we were at the other end of the league.. but I've had enough even if he wins the Freight Rover Trophy he can go... it ain't the FA cup you know!"

"Nagel. We need to freshen things up, change the style of play and be less predictable. Moyes won't change his ways and why should he. It's time for a younger manager with a fresh approach. I'd happily keep Moyes on in a sporting director role but I think he will look for a new job."

The bottom line is he's spent nearly £200 million on players then took about 30 games before we saw a decent performance and with three games left were still not mathematically safe from the drop. Why risk another season like that
