Midweek football

Post Mad Ferret »

What do we reckon for the League Cup semis then?

I have a feeling Arsenal will turn over Newcastle and get to the final. Seems like the Geordies are already planning their Trafalgar Square piss up...can see Arsenal shocking them.

As for Spurs, I think that lead from the 1st leg is absolutely vital for them. Can see them battling for a draw at Anfield, and progressing to the final.

A NLD in the cup final would be a sight to behold. Bit of a lose/lose for us whoever wins.

I will maybe watch the second leg of these knock out games in the CL but up until now have not really followed or even watched highlights of that ridiculous league format, even more stupid than the 4 team leagues they used to have, the only good thing is no more teams dropping down a comp for finishing 3rd out of 4.

Mex lives in Spain so thinks it's a rite of passage to hate Madrid. Bless.

I've got a mate who moved to near Ipswich, as his wife is from there, he started to hate Naarwich!

Pep lost his Pep…

…struggling with loss of form…injuries…and off field domestic issues…

Needs a break and change of locale and new challenges….

No longer Super-Pep…

without doubt if we were playing Exeter that would have turned us over.
We all know Spurs are shit, but come on. Even the most fervent of WH fans would expect your boys to win.

Huge game at Goodson tomorrow, really can’t see Everton losing.
How could anyone fancy man city on current form. That squad is finished by and large, especially Ederson
They should’ve won.

Rico Lewis is straight trash. Expect to see him signing for us in the near future.

When it comes to the Champions League Real Madrid just get it done.
Is Pep capable of rebuilding Man City? Hmmm

Last minute winner for Coventry v QPR.
The genius Frank Lampard has them 8th & a point off the playoffs
Leeds scooting away at the top, looks like they are coming back

The headline on the BBC last night Man U get through with last minute winner... No mention of any controversy..

We all know that wouldn't have been the headline were it reversed... It would have focused on the wrongly given goal.

Amorim wanted to start in the summer & should have stuck to his guns
Obviously he wants players to play his way but that’s going to be difficult
Understand they have PSR woes plus a lot of players he wants to shift are on big money & wont give that up.
AWB earlier in the season was a good example … bought for £50m sold for £15m & they had to give him £5m to go away
Also they aren’t first in the queue for the top players any more
Players would rather go to Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal & even others

Can you imagine if Leicester had scored that goal to win it?
Too cynical to imagine the Lino would have found his flag if the clubs were reversed?
Am sure the ITV execs were punching the air as they can show another Man U game in the next round

Hard to say, Potter at Chelsea was called a fraud nearly every Weekend football thread on here with every bad performance... But he's here now and nobody thinks that.. Arteta was called it at Arsenal, Howe at Newcastle...

Bournemouth were ridiculed on here for sacking their manager and employing Iraola, so hard to say isn't it, may need time may just be the wrong fit.
Yea we know, you told us all this just a few days ago.
Well of course you'd know you're one of those that do it most 😉

You slaughtered Iraola.. But the question was asked again so I answered it again.

Oh and I questioned the free kick ridiculous.
I love the way the ITV panelmentioned it said it was a definite offside  and then went on to discuss Man U as usual and their future prospects like it was Man U TV, the way every live football programme does, this offside will be forgotten about quickly, but if it were the other way around would be a story about in on the BBC for most of the week, because it's very rare there isn't something about them on their page daily.
Amorim buys a coffee. Have your say. Do you agree he should have had an Americana or would it be better for Man U if it was an espresso?

Bruno Fernandes takes his bins out. Have your say. Is he using the right bin bags to propel Man U back to glory?

Yep, wondering if we might have dodged a bullet with him.
Although to be fair we were hit full-force by the Howitzer that was Loppy.

Really leaves a nasty taste in the mouth this, shocking for the lino to miss it, but it's done now and as hard as it is you can only accept it's happened and move on, absolutely gut wrenching though. Also, I've not seen it said elsewhere but I thought the handball award for the initial free kick was harsh. As shit as Man Utd are now I think I'm right in saying they still score a lot of late goals to win matches, certainly at home anyway. Cunts.
