I'm struggling to comprehend what Marcus Rashford has done to merit starting for England.

He even criticised Madueke himself after a lacklustre performance against 174th ranked Andorra demanding he do more and doesn't concentrate enough. 😂

What did Thomas Tuchel say about Noni Madueke?

He said: "Yes, that's what he needs to give. "He sometimes has a lack of concentration or falls asleep in counter-pressing, but if he pushes himself he can be a very important player."

"Yeah, you stay there, Jarrod, good lad"

He has a grudge against West Ham players , something to do with 1966 .

Appalling starting line up selection by the kraut. Madueke, Anderson and Morgan Rodgery in and no space for Bowen.

Pathetic!

No goals or assists Madueke starts ahead of Bowen
Jarrod might as well knock Tommy the Germans squads on the head & wait for the next manager

Bellingham top notch?  I beg to differ.

Big time. Proper shit hot Footballer. I actually place Palmer in the same category, I regard them both that special. We are very lucky to have them.
Not for me, Bellingham goes hiding when it matters.  Rice on the other hand is a big game player, best player on the pitch Euro 2021 final.

He literally scored Englands only goal in the Euros Final against an impressive eventual winners, Spain. 🤔

Not to mention that outrageous last minute overhead kick to take us to extra time before winning the game against Slovakia to keep us in the Tournament. He's also turned up to help win Real Madrid a number of Trophies in his debut season for them.

Gary Neville won 20 career trophies, you plank. Twenty. We're talking serial winners, not one off FA Cup winners.

Anyway, I think Bellingham & Rice are top notch. Palmer has had 1 good season, all the talent in the world but thick as pigshit, fingers crossed with him. If the right back James stays fit, he's a quality player. If Foden can get into his club side, maybe England can find a role for him.

The rest? Fuck all golden in there.

Madueke starts again.

Don’t rate him. Certainly not on Bowen’s level.

wonder if he’d be starting if he played for us. Doubt he’d even be in the squad.

no player has more goal contributions in the premier league than Bowen since about April time.

When was the last time England had a manager who picked his players purely based on form?

Another baffling team from the noncey Roland Rat looking German. Maduake and Rogers are dross of the most beige variety, Livramento who doesn't even look good at club level and Anderson who is basically a clogger - presumably to appease Rice's Roy of the Rovers delusions. Reece 'better looking than my sister' James who had played about twelve minutes of football in the last decade and Konsa who is the own brand mild cheddar of centre backs. Not an ounce of creativity on the pitch, barely a player that is worthy of inclusion in the squad let alone a starting berth. Potter level ineptitude. Wouldn't be surprised if this was a draw, "tough place to go", "creditable draw", "professional performance from a young side", "oh the crowd said some naughty things to our sensitive pansy fuckin players" type coverage to follow. Cunts.

What a load of shit international football is these days.

As a slight aside Rice cracks me up. Obviously rate him highly but considering he's 27yo this season and in his 3rd season with Arsenal, his only Trophy win in his career is still the newly founded 3rd rate Europa Conference League Cup. 😆

Should have gone elsewhere lad for regular Trophy winning.

I've explained it below. Aint going round in circles. Said my bit. Rather base players on their ability rather than the trophies their sides have won.

Not even close.
But this is where you let yourself down. You pick the cream out of the years gone by then pick some squad players now. You're comparing Apples with fucking Potatoes.

Come back once Jude, Palmer, Foden, Rice etc have finished their careers then its fair to have a tally up.

But if you read what I have said I mention the talent available for the tournaments we've previously failed at. Foden ..... PFA player of the year going into Euro 2024 and was shit.

Cole Palmer outstanding......hardly used last summer.      Kane golden boot winner going into Euro 2020.   Trent 3x team of the season and 2x champions league team of season. Hardly used.  Rashford best ever season was the 2022 world cup season. Didnt start against France.

I am not on about what they have done for England, i am saying the talent they have displayed for their clubs going into the last few tournaments has been world class.........that means that this generation/crop or whatever you want to call them is a huge failure if they walk away from the 4 tournament cycle with no winners medals. Given that most play in the prem which is undoubtedly the best league in the world  right now and that there is greater squad depth and greater talent pool to choose from than years gone by......for me it is a bigger failure.

Seems a bit of a moot point to be arguing over. England hasn't won anything with either set of players- at least yet- so you can lump them all in as equal 'failures' internationally really.

The common denominator for both generations is poor/rigid/uninspiring coaching arguably wasting a crazy amount of talent (in the context of other English teams from other points in time) both times so far, though.

Do you want to do club trophies?

You won't be able to include Jon Stones and his 5 appearance league title medals to get you out of a hole.
Haha just make it up as you go along don't you.

No wonder you don't want John Stones included.

We've got some fucking good players now, probably aside from in defence and centre forward. We are spoiled for choice in a lot of mf/attacking positions and we absolutely should be doing better with what we have. Definitely in an attacking sense. Rice and Bellingham are pretty much as good as it gets in midfield and there are several options to make the third man in there. There's enough availability down both wings for us to be very effective there. There needs to be a better tactical set up to allow the players to flourish. There's a lot of pace and skill available to the manager.

However we've fuck all up front really. Reminds me a bit of Portugal when they had some great players and only Pauleta or that bloke who played for Spurs as choices up front. Dropping Kane is the answer, for someone who compliments the other players. I get he's our 'best' striker but I don't think he's the best fit.

Defence is a problem if you've got Dan Burn starting. After Guehi there's fuck all else. Stones is clearly not reliable to not be injured any more. We need someone fast and mobile there to counter what other sides like to do. I don't think there's a lot of use for a Dan Burn in international football, particularly against top sides, with what he brings. He'd get raped against a side like France. CB used to be a strength for us when we had fuck all in the way of attacking prowess and now wouldn't you know we've got an absolute paucity of class defenders. The full backs are all a little uninspiring as well. There's no real standout and I don't feel there's a plan or commitment to particular players. Again Reece James seems injured far too much. 'Trent' is not the answer there. Pickford is OK but he's not in the same league as the top keepers. Never really let us down in a big moment, though.

Attitude is a problem as well. I think some of these players think they can just coast and only turn it on when they want- Bellingham is our biggest problem here. He should be dominating games. He should be our workhorse, but he only seems to want to play in big games. Arrogant and with the wrong sort of chip on his shoulder. Thinks he's too big for it all. All the Spanish and German players, most of the French players, Messi- humble and more importantly playing for the team rather than themselves, realising it's the biggest honour in football. Bellingham is the opposite. Great player but seems to have a stinking attitude. Needs to take a leaf or two out of Rice's book. Saka refusing to play where the team needed him to in the Euros shows his true colours too. There's too many players playing for themselves rather than the team and looking selfishly at their own individual glory rather than winning together. I genuinely think Bowen should get more of a run. That guy plays for the team rather than himself. That's what we need. Saka and Madueke and Rashford are selfish players. I'd like to see more Eze and more Gordon. Maybe Grealish needs to come back as well. Foden is a total enigma for England but he's a team player. He'd look superb playing for Spain or France or Germany but England just don't get a tune out of him. However maybe his time has passed now.

Anyway, it's a conundrum. I'm not sure Tuchel is the man to solve it properly. He looks a bit out of ideas and has the team playing as less than the sum of their parts. They should have just made Klopp an offer he couldn't refuse if they were going foreign.

God that went on for too long.
