NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."
Re: 2016 NFL Season
Rams are signing Marcus PETERS interception King. Look forward to him picking off that nob Garoppolo on numerous occasions.

Re: 2016 NFL Season
lets try that one sentence again ...bigger than quarterback despite all the young talent (that hopefully will keep developing).

Re: 2016 NFL Season
"I think the Saints are in a good but dangerous spot going into the combine, draft and free agency. They did well enough that they can't move on from Brees but he is old and is small and taken a lot of hit over the years. Every once in a while it catches up to him. That all said, there are still some needs bigger than quarterback but despite all the young talent than hopefully will keep developing. Come home Jimmy Graham, for one."

Re: 2016 NFL Season
Definitely. And the next decent QB will make even more than Cousins and so on. Mental! I remember when JOE FLACCO was briefly the league's highest paid QB(!)

Re: 2016 NFL Season
Also Brady takes a lower salary to help the pats cap situation- he makes his money back in other ways with all this TB12 crap that Kraft allows him to do.

Re: 2016 NFL Season
The highest paid quarterback is almost always the one who most recently signed a contract. It's not really an indicator of who is the best. Same with most positions really.

"saying that, he picked up more than Rodgers last season. I think Aaron needs a new agent :.) https://www.cnbc.com/2017/09/01/highest-paid-quarterbacks-in-the-nfl.html"

"also, bradford is another supposedly being released. the contract they're going to offer is the biggest in nfl history. he's a decent player but I'm not sure he's worth that"

"cough, the vikings owners are not going to offer keenum the franchise tag, to keep him for next season and it also looks like they're going to allow bridgewater to go. they must be confident of getting cousins as the jets were also very interested"

Re: 2016 NFL Season
"Don't think the Eagles have much space in the cap, they've got age on their side though and a lot of talent coming back from injury."
Re: 2016 NFL Season
"Niners have between 110- 120 mill in cap space this year. They can front load Jimmy G's contract and still load up in Free Agency with that sort of cap room...... Then there's the four picks in the first 3 rounds of this years draft.... First 3 rounds youy are expected to pick starters, a pass rusher and Corner for Defense and Interior Oline 1 guard 1 center will make us a power house....... I'm telling you we're fancied to do well next year and free agency hasn't even started yet...... Check out Vegas odds on Niners, oh yeah!"

Re: 2016 NFL Season
"The Eagles GM, after the year he's had with injuries is the shrewdest man in the game. I think with Foles they'd be right to trade, but the better move is to let Foles decide. Also, it still isn't nailed on that Wentz will be back for the start of the season."

"the Jaguars should be looking at someone like Foles, maybe Cousins too but they need a change from Bottles and have the defence to challenge for a while"
