Presume for game 4 that Australia will give Starc & Hazlewood a break after playing 2 & 3 with Zampa returning.
Would be good if they give the u19 World Cup final MOTM Mahli Beardman a game at Lords. Only added as a travelling reserve for experience given the fast bowling injuries but worth giving him a run out.
Would be good to see the young boys Jake Fraser-McGurk & Cooper Connolly get a game at Lords too.

Great win for England today. A superb unbeaten century from captain Harry Brook to lead England to victory. Great knock from Will Jacks too.
Starc got plenty of tap.

"We are out there to score runs," said England Captain Harold Brook. "If you get caught somewhere on the boundary or in the field then who cares?

Why they still bother having games in Manchester is beyond me. Especially games in mid-September.
The first 3 ODIs are all up north too (Nottingham, Leeds and Chester-le-street), so we should expect at least one of those games to be washed out, if not all of them.
The summer international schedule is a total mess these days thanks to the wonderful Hundred.

Raining in Manchester (no really) so no play yet
Was questioning the line up Australia put out for game 2 … seems with injuries that they had 11 players available so an easy selection
Different squad for the ODI’s so a few more spares arriving for the World Champions including Starc, Smith & Maxwell

Understood he stepped down from Essex ‘to pursue other projects’
The ABC interview talked to him about his experience and his one Test in 1989.
Invited him to visit the ABC commentary box during the season so that he could catch up with Terry Alderman again.
Lot of his role will be finishing off the redevelopment of the WACA where they have knocked down all but the Lillee-Marsh Stand

Stephenson was just recently let go by Essex CCC.

Understandable to give everyone in the squad a game but basically an Australia team with 6 all rounders & no recognised fast bowler.
Good to see the young boys Fraser-McGurk & Connolly get a game though Cooper Connolly is a batsman & occasional spinner so bit odd to put him at 9.
Never thought David was an international player so time to move on from him & Stoinis.
Presumably both teams will select their best 11 from the squad available for the decider.
Heard an interview this morning with ex Essex John Stephenson who has just been appointed head of WA Cricket.
No pressure given WA have won the last 3 Sheffield Shields & 50 over cups plus the Perth Scorchers have won 3 of the last 4 Big Bash.

Disappointing night for Australia
With 80 off 6 overs should have made 250 & won by 100 runs
In for extra training this morning I expect
Hopefully will see Fraser-McGurk & Connolly in the next couple of games
Not sure who at the ECB scheduled 3 Tests back to back to back with a t20 on the day after what would have been Day 5 of the 3rd Test
Meant England fielded several players whose international careers should be over and a couple of callow no marks who looked bewildered by international cricket

Not the greatest of starts last evening for England in the first T201 but Livingstone did well.
