Considering Sullivan has a knack for hiring managers that somehow make even more bizarre decisions than the previous manager, he’s gonna have a job on his hands to top the work of his latest appointment

How interesting that no one has mentioned Will Still this time round, not exactly pulling up trees at Southampton is he.
I’d love to get Lampard in but know the fan base will fume at that but he has a history with us and knows what we represent.

For me it's obvious that at that point any resemblance the the club the way it was in a management sense died a death. I won't state that it was because all future managers had no link at all to West Ham and the ethos that had been there for years because Ron Greenwood himself was an "outsider" but really he created that ethos of the "West Ham Way" that a lot of us were brought up on. To be fair Harry ripped a lot of it up himself backroom staff wise letting the likes of Ronnie Boyce go but he did bring in the likes of Jimmy Hampson who did a very good job bringing a lot of the youngsters through.
As you say Macari was the deviation from that and to be fair brought in a lot of very good players that served the club well, but Bonds and Harry had benefitted from both Ron and John so kept that club ethos going. Since then it's been in fits and starts. Pards had a spell, Bilic a season, but Curbs was the one who really surprised me considering he had learnt from Ron and John but he didn't really go down that route. Maybe he would have if he had stayed longer. It's all got bizzare though under the current owners bar that brief spell with Bilic. BFS was a safe pair of hands but as you know shouted from the rooftops that the "West Ham Way" hadn't worked for years. All these managers under the current owners just seems like a scatter gun approach, same with recruitment.

That depends on the particulars of the contract that Moyes was (allegedly) offered and then refused to sign. If it meant that Moyes had no say over players coming into the club it could be worse

He seems to still have a genuine affection for the club and has a handle on what we need to do to get out of the predicament we are in.
I'm certainly not a fan of Big Sam but we are in dire straits so maybe he and McDonald as no 2 could be a final throw of the dice.
They would at least drill some discipline into the squad and get them defending effectively.
Not so much a step backward but one to prevent us falling through the relegation trap door.

In Nuno’s first game, we looked okay against an admittedly mediocre Everton side.
That was both their new managerial bounces instantly used up and that was only a poxy draw against a defensive Moyes side and a loss in the Cup.
