Might be confusing the buffoons but wasnt BANKES the one who did a home game v Villa when Grealish was playing for them and gave J Grealish about 12 free kicks for leaping in the air like a SALMON whenever our player came within 5 yds?

"He was consistently terrible. Booked Emerson for waving the imaginary card, ignored Almiron doing the same thing under his nose. Booked Bruno for a scything tackle, then ignored a worse one under his nose by the same player, gave a foul so he saw it. The foul for the free kick from which they scored should have gone the other way as the player pulled Paqueta's arm as he got away after winning the tackle. The push was pretty blatant, ignored. In fairness he should also have booked Paqueta for the lunge but ignored that, presumably on a ""justice"" basis for the previous cock ups. As the premier league appear totally unwilling to do anything about this high level of incompetence I would advocate the TV companies instead of the inane ref watch actually start a league table for officials, where each Monday the games are reviewed and the best official commended. That way cunts like Banks; Anthony Taylor, would soon find that their performances were not subjectively criticised but objectively held up to scrutiny as the shit they actually are."

"Why was emerson booked for gesturing a yellow , then no one else for the same crime although all could see Newcastle players doing it . It was highlighted on tele later as well. Utter joke of a ref. Rare you get back and the crowd got every decision correct.."

The thing that annoys about the Isak push on Aguerd is that had it been the other way round it would have been a stone wall penalty.

"I was fuming about the lack of a second yellow throughout the match, that's just a ref making the rules up as he goes along because in reality he's too much of a coward to be chosen as a premier league referee. Imagine Guimaraes goes on to score the winner? Gave me the right hump."

"Yup, I agree with that completely. He absolutely bottled it. You can maybe give him the benefit of the doubt with the gesturing of the yellow by their player on the offchance he didn't see it, but the second challenge by Guimaraes was clear as day a yellow by the standard he himself set earlier in the game by already brandishing one for an almost identical challenge. He saw it clearly and he chose to let him off. That's likely cost us two points and he should be made to explain it, and punished for it. Any shit about ' the flow of the game' or 'being so soon after the first one' or 'one final chance' shouldn't come into it. It's objectively a second yellow."

I'm not saying he does. What I'm saying is that VAR should be able to have a quick look at second yellows to stop refs being afraid to give them.

"He don't need VAR to know thats a 2nd yellow After the shitshow in the Liverpool game last week he has bottled it due to not wanting to be hounded and in the spotlight this week He should be demoted, if they want to start issuing yellows for asking for yellows then they must realise that will come with alot more red cards"

"Agree- it's started to happen in rugby as well. the 'safety net' is too big now. BUT the huge problem in football is that rightly or wrongly VAR will only intervene in certain situations. (Penalty, straight red) So stuff like the second yellow yesterday just goes unchecked right under everyone's nose. The blokes in the bunker could be watching it and clocking it but unable to do anything. I'd argue a second yellow leading to a red is just as important as a straight red decision. I do get the point they don't want games to be 'reffed from the bunker' but it seems mad they just have to sit there while everyone can see the idiot on the pitch has made a big error. The process(es) just aren't fit for purpose. Far too many holes for things to fall though. You can't even rely on it for an offside now whereas at least you could before last week."

"I think VAR has really reduced the standard of refereeing as officials know that any major fuck up they make will or should be rectified by VAR (offsides, red cards, penalties etc) so they don't actually have to make decisions on the pitch. I think the ref bottled it yesterday simply because if he sent him off and he was wrong then there's no help coming and as said below is probably better for a ref to side with the so called bigger teams as they know they'll get less grief."

"Alfs 3:34 Mon Oct 9 Yeah if you take that one game in isolation like some sort of fucking single celled protozoa incapable of independent thought, you might have a point. Those of us higher up the food chain remember every fucking game we've ever played against them, especially at their place where we've been mugged off repeatedly and then any game since VAR got introduced where they were proven to have benefited hugely from a number of shady fucking VAR bullshit. If it was against anyone but the 4Bs I'd have been laughing like a fucking drain at their calamity VAR decision the other week, they've fucking had it coming."

"Nobody makes mistakes with such unerring consistency; I’m satisfied he took a bung from a big betting syndicate. However, Moyes’s unnecessarily negative tactics certainly made it easier for him. That and Toon’s clever idea of falling over in any one-on-one situation with Paqueta, which was evident from the first minute."

"as a bare minimum, the decision to book Emerson for gesturing a yellow card but not book Almiron for doing exactly the same thing needs to be explained. Both gestures were made right in front of the ref in his line of site so can't use the didn't see it excuse because that would clearly be bullshit. It's black and white 2 payers committed exactly the same offense yet one was booked and the other wasn't. It's either gross negligence, bias or cheating. So which is it?"

"Worst referring performance i've seen in a while. Not even VAR related, his on field decisions were absolutely baffling and were gam defining. Its wrong that the refs are deciding outcomes of games more than the players. I think the yellow card for 'waving for a yellow' is fucking ridiculous..... but whats more ridiculous is that if you get a silly yellow like that it now appears it lets you off of a stone wall yellow card a few mins later. Well it did for Bruno at least.... absolute joke, the ref knew it was a yellow as he booked Antonio for it about 10 mins later He also booked one of their players for encroaching in the wall, then didnt re mark the wall, then watched them creep forward about another 3 steps before JWP took it He shouldn't be near a premier league game for a while...... but the list of refs to choose from seems to be getting smaller and smaller"

"I agree, that there is corruption in the premiership refereeing. There is just too much money involved. The refs dont earn a ""Fortune"" there starting salary is 70K per year. I cant believe that one if not more are getting some sort of kick back from the Asian market where a foul given can be worth Millions!!! That clown yesterday is and has been the worst of the lot so far. He was awful the last time he reffed us. Not sure he has the brains to take a decent bung!!!"

"I’d say it’s 100% corruption No matter how bad a refereeing display is the FA do not investigate them for match fixing, why is that? They’ve investigated players but not their own referees Personally I think it’s obvious what’s going on"

"Imo it’s not corruption but a combination of incompetence, inability mentally to handle the pressure and speed of the Premiership and very possibly the old “unconscious bias” to super rich teams who’s wealth and influence will impact. The likes of United and Liverpool drive TV subscriptions globally that provide a disproportionate funding for the Premiership “gravy train”. It must influence just as large corporations influence decisions in politics etc. Newcastle are now part of the narrative and their wealth means everyone including pundits and refs assuming they are going to be winning most games and that wealth will have sway with those that oversee or run the league. The super league idea has made it worse as the Premiership does not want to give them more excuses to breakaway and threaten the gravy train. If we had played a team outside the rich 6 or so yesterday, the sending off would have happened Imo and Banks would have been less inclined to “not upset” the away team Imo. He will know ( consciously or unconsciously ) that the media and pundits now take Newcastle seriously and will run the microscope over their games. It’s easier to upset a West Ham as their clout is less damaging. It’s how things work in the West of the globe where capitalism and neo liberal economics drive tge culture. Banks is incompetent for sure but simply was making decisions based on minimizing the scrutiny of his refereeing. The unconscious bias did as a result look like it was “conscious”. :-)"

"Vexed, in their last game they had two players sent off and a good goal disallowed. How is that Liverpool 'bias'? Back to our game, even Shearer thought that was a sending off for whatever his name is."

"I don't buy the 'top six' bias. Take Liverpool's recent case, for example. It's purely down to incompetence, along with Ref's not being made accountable for their decisions. It's only a matter of time before a club sues the FA for loss of revenue due to a ref screwing up."

"Well don't watch the replays because you will be pissed off. They should categorically have been down to ten men, the free kick for their equaliser was a joke, never a free kick in a million years. There is a strong argument that Isak was offside too. Newcastle have been jammy as fuck today. The ref is an appalling cսnt."
