Woke watch
"There is a very good section on GB news where the ludicrous idiocies of Wokeness are looked at I thought we would should have one for WHO. I'll start with Baptiste on BBC: In Hungary,an ambassador's family are kidnapped by Islamic terrorists and carry out atrocities. At the end of the last episode Baptiste finds out that it is a false flag operation and conveniently, the real culprits are white supremacists who want to stop all immigration. Coronation Street ITV a gay black footballer is stopped by the police, because he is driving an expensive car. He is pushed to the ground during an altercation, and damages his leg threatening his career. Could have been written by Dawn Butler or a BLM activist."

Re: Woke watch
"Fifth, the Euro final was in England, that's why those figures were up. It was being thrown at everyone from every fucking angle. I watched it, yet I couldn't even tell you who they played in the other rounds. However, that's a one off. I didn't even know where this tournament was being held until mentioned below, and I can guarantee you the majority of the female bandwagon jumpers last year won't watch this final even if England are in it. They 100% won't watch it if it's Sweden Vs Spain. The desperation to pretend people care has become proper cringe."

"I will cheer for the Canadians at the World Cup and be very excited if they repeat their Olympic success. Same way I would with say, athletics at the Olympics. But with both it would one of the very few times I give real attention to it in a four year cycle. For good or bad."

"I have zero empathy for or connection to the women's game. It may have the same label (""Football""), they may play in familiar colours at recognisable grounds on pitches made of similar markings, but that doesn't make it attractive to me. If you dress a gorilla in a fine suit, it's still a gorilla."

"If not a conspiracy, what would you call google actively looking to push this ahead of the men's football in search results, Fifth? This isn't me hating women football, or anything, but why do you think they've done that artificially? Why not let things grow organically?"

Re: Woke watch
"Fellas There are millions of people who watch football, millions more who will watch England play (any England team). I watched the Wimbledon final - I never watch tennis otherwise. I rarely watch athletics but I'll watch the world champs or olympics. My daughter and her friends and their families were all well into it. Just because you lot may not watch, doesn't mean there isn't a significant number of people who will watch on free to air TV. It's not a conspiracy of the giant lizards. I completely agree re the demands for more investment etc etc when people just won't pay significant money to watch the game. But suggesting people won't watch for free on the telly is ludicrous."

"With, apparently, all those people watching the womens's game I'm surprised the women's WORLD transfer record for them is only £400k, which is less than The Vanarama National League's transfer record."

Saw a social media post from one of the Aust sports channels (prob ABC) talking about 1.4m tickets being sold in Aust & NZ for the womens world cup Many replies pointing out that many are $10 (about £6) & that in NZ they are giving them away. Never see gate takings discussed

"If the match was on in a bar that contained 40 people at the time, would that whole 40 be deemed to be watching the game?"

"""17.4 million people in UK watched the women's Euros final."" In this day and age of creating narratives i'd be sceptical about that figure"

"""It's nothing like the figures for men's"" Which was my point, really. They're (google) artificially promoting this, when they should let it grow organically. But, unfortunately, this is the world we live in now. You're now told what you have to like."

Re: Woke watch
Master 17.4 million people in UK watched the women's Euros final. I'm not sure what the benefit is of pretending that it doesn't get decent viewing figures. It's nothing like the figures for men's but that's still a huge total.
Re: Woke watch
"Millions will be asleep and will watch a few highlights if they're bored. Coouts being discussed in parliament and to be spoken about in the HoL. Under the microscope, that's exactly what they wanted I'm sure."

"I just had to check something regarding the England team, so I went to google. Whenever I googled anything to do with the ""England team"" or ""England squad"" the top replies are now all to do with the women's team. They're going to be force feeding us the women's world cup that about 6 people will end up watching."

Re: Woke watch
Back in the days of cheques and guarantee cards a friend worked for Coots and got loads of funny looks whenever she tried to use it as most have never heard of the bank. A few years later the same friend worked for the Banque nationale de Paris and we all found it funny whenever she paid for something with a BNP credit card.
