"I love the book. I was surprised people went gaga for that awful War and Peace adaptation on the BBC. I'd never read the book and gave up on the series after a couple of episodes because it was SO BORING. If you want a tale of posh people, social climbing, a kittenish femme fatale who's no better than she ought to be, enduring, devoted love and redemtion, with a bit of Napoleon chucked in, then Vanity Fair will sort you out. And unlike that Russian, po-faced garbage, it's a story told with great wit and panache."

going back to the original post - i'd never seen Luther until a few weeks back. i've watched 3 series in the last couple of weeks and onto the 4th. it's bloody brilliant.
