"Granted, I am in my dotage, but this is the only English language series for which I've needed subtitles. It's Jonah Hill's appalling mumbling to blame, not my earsight. I'm eleventy three, you know."

I've started on Maniac. Mainly because Julia Garner is in it. Love the little stuff like the dog-do robots (they're actually a splendid idea). But I've had to turn the subtitles on due to all the mumbling. Didn't drama schools used to train actors to ENUNCIATE?

"Slightly random and off the usual list and great stuff recommended. After completing Call Saul , Superb. Having took a break from netflix and have started, only now to watch Curb your Enthusiasm. Loving the situations and arguments Larry David creates. Each episode has a great comedy plot. Also been re-watching on You tube George Carlin stand up shows. Finding him a comdey genius. Thanks for the Staircase recommendations and also the nuttiest and shortest of all the Motorway women. COYIs"

"Mike, I really enjoyed S1. It had a real film noir style to it. I watched about 8 episodes of S2 and gave up - it had turned into a pile of poo. Shame."

"norm, it's the casting in BB & BCS that's so good. no one could play mike better than johnathan banks. that character is good enough for its own series, and then introduced lalo salamanca at the end of series four of BCS, who's another lunatic :.)"

If you like your Sci-Fi I thoroughly recommend The Expanse. The first two series were on Netflix but have now come off. I guess as Amazon are now making season 4 rather than SciFi channel. Oh and just watched the latest Season of Better Call Saul. Better than Breaking Bad IMO

"I've had a go at some Russian literature, but the three-name curse puts me off. Name, father's name with a bit tacked on and family name. All used, on their own, to refer to the same person. And there are diminutives as well. I assume Russians are used to this from real life, but most of the people I know, I use just one name for."
