"If you want an easy watch with the wife without the usual mixture of violence and gratuitous sex and bad language (I know...bland) then The Marvellous Mrs Maisel on Amazon is actually pretty good, has some decent characters, and amusing along the way."

"Hi Mart. Pride & Prej is on there (BBC version, Colin Firgh as Mr Darcy - I can't get past the fact his voice is identical to Arthur Lowe's, but each girl to their own) Emma. More Jane Austen. Johnny Lee Miller is marvellous as Mr Knightley. North and South. Elizabeth Gaskell. Daniella Westbrook hopelessly miscast, but with watching if only for the brilliant Sinéad Cusack as the mother in law from hell. Daniel Deronda. George Eliot. Parade's End Poldark Alias Grace (Margaret Atwood period drama) Dickensian (very clever idea) Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries. Set in the 1920s in Australia. Nice bit of fun. Very beautiful costumes. Do NOT, under any circumstances, recommend 'War and Peace'. It was utter garbage. Really boring story and unengaging characters. I've never read the book. Maybe it's just a shit book. Not all the 'classics' live up to their rep."

"I watched Sticks and Stones, some itv 3 parter thing. Nothing special, but it’s about a bloke been bullied in his office. Watching the cunts he works with break him down was infuriating, had to bin off the last 20 minutes and let my missus tell me how it ended."

The Crown is comedy gold Phil: I thought you were hoping for more children from me Liz: I am. Phil: Then why on earth would you do something like that to your hair? Liz: What's wrong with it? I thought it was tidy and sensible. Phil: Adjectives to stir the loins.

"I'm getting Netflix for my mum and dad for Xmas so I can sit them in front of the telly and let them binge and, more to the point, keep them out of my hair. They loved The Crown, Downton, all that sort of shite. Any recommendations for box sets on Netflix of a period/historical nature would be much appreciated. And might help keep a fellow Whoer sane over the festive season. Thanks in advance, you cunts, etc, etc."
