Thought All Quiet on the Western Front was superb how fortunate that we were born when we were and still we don't learn with Putin the cnut being responsible for so many innocent lives.

"Can't find anything to float my boat at the moment. Gave Nine Perfect Strangers a go but wasn't for me, neither was The English. Started Season 2 of the Handmaid's tale but it seems a bit like season 1, cruelty heaped upon cruelty. Hanging on for Happy Valley 3, thought the first two were some of the best TV I've seen."

I know its not a box set but the recent addition of All Quiet on the Western Front is really something. Wow what a harrowing but incredible film. You just cannot begin to understand how wars like that and WWII happened and how they were relatively not long ago. Its like something from a different universe these days. Effected me in the same way as Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers. I watched it with the English dubbing on and it was really good esp as i could focus on the action rather than reading subtitles. Dubbing appears to have come a long way from the days of Bruce Lee movies.

"Agree with you, Manuel, re The White Lotus. Though it would have been difficult to surpass the performance of the gay Aussie drug/alcohol addict. Still enjoying season 2 though. Yellowstone 5 is no where near as good as the earlier seasons, but I'll stick with it."

"Nags - Yea, as I have said a few times now I haven't seen anything really top draw for a long time now, probably the last season of Gomorrah, I thought The Offer was decent, as was Dahmer, and the new The White Lotus is a good yarn, although not as good as the first one."

Five Days at Memorial is a really good miniseries worth watching. It's about the events at a New Orleans hospital during hurricane Katrina.

"Pentonville 3:56 Wed Nov 16 I watched the first episode of that and gave up on it. If he had stuck to, 'there were probably reasonably advanced civilisations around a bit earlier than we thought', then it would have been OK. But that wouldn't have been very controversial or exciting or easy to sell to a TV company or book publisher. So he's claiming these societies were VERY advanced, to the extent of being world-wide civilisations. So we get lots of the usual conspiracy theory arguments like, 'nobody can explain, so it must mean this', 'scientists have been unable to prove', 'archaeologists can't agree' - that sort of Chariot of the Gods stuff. He's a plausible little scamp, though."
