Ad I said I usually like his films. The only other exception being kill bill 2. At various points you can almost hear him speaking the lines. Especially the bullshit about superman's identity.

"""self indulgent bollocks"" Reckon you could say that about all of Tarantino's films since Pulp Fiction. I wish that a) he only wrote additional dialogue and left the plot and characters to better writers and b) he let someone else edit his films, cutting out all the unnecessary shit."

"Just watched ""once upon a time in america"". Normally love Tarantino films, even hateful 8 which has a load of detractors... But this was an absolute pile of shite. Had no point whatsoever, 2 hours and 4o mins of completely self indulgent bollocks where somehow despite the length, nothing actually happens apart from last 10 mins when the real life Polanski house murderers end up going to the wrong house and getting killed. Have I missed something? Why is it getting such great reviews? Seriously nothing happens. Actor and his stunt double mill about a bit, the actress sharon Tate dances for a bit and watches her own film, and the murder bit at the end? What the actual fuck????"

Mad Dog 3:07 Tue May 5 Must confess I enjoyed The Force Awakens as it was a bit of a romp throwing in all the classic characters but the Trilogy in many ways has just being the classic films just rehashed with new characters. Hope they leave it to rest now.

"ted fenton 7:28 Fri May 1 Think you’re about 5 years to late to put that on a 2020 thread Tedders. We’re now into May, and I cannot think of a 2020 film that I like yet. Jojo Rabbit was great, but is a 2019 film"

"I finally got round to watching the ZZ Top documentary: That little 'ol band from Texas, and really enjoyed it. Long legged girls, fast cars and rock'n'roll... what's not to like? Amazingly they've been playing for 50 years and this film is a great tribute to them and their music. They may not be the prettiest guys around but they can certainly play a tune."

"Watched ""Legend"" last night yet another Kray film thought Tom Hardy was very good playing both brothers. Some of the East End locations were a bit poor as in the ""Blind Beggars"" being tucked away in a side street. Enjoyed it though."

"May have a look at the fourth protocol, but I find the problem with old spy films is they are now a bit dated. Blame it on Rio was a cracking little film with Caine in. Harry brown is good."

"Zico - The Black Windmill is a great film, remember being blown away by it when I first watched it years back. Love Michael Caine, watch 'A Quiet American' if you can, based in Vietnam, one of his best films for sure."

"Sven Roeder 9:22 Wed Apr 29 Ha ha, yeah good point about the water tanks. Funny how films can date but still be enjoyable. Watched The Black Windmill with Michael Caine last night. I live a few miles from the windmill in question. What was funny though was how his characters wife had to sit in a library delving through massive scrap books for information whereas these days a quick swipe of a phone and Google would have given her the answer! Would have been a quick film now!"

"ted - Blimey, my Mum also took us to see the new Bond film (Roger Moore era) at the ABC Romford, those were the days when you sometimes had to queue up outside in the cold. Pearl & Dean, choc ice lady. Great, carefree, innocent days. What the fuck happened?"

zico Was reading that the credits are diagonal so one name is bottom left and the other upper right so they are as ‘equal’ as possible. On the poster McQueens name is first but Newman’s name is slightly higher. Didn’t count the lines to see if they were the same but McQueen doesn’t appear until at least half an hour in so has to talk a bit more to catch up while Newman is bonking Faye Dunaway! Crazy but it’s all about the fees you can command by being top billing. Great fun but not quite sure why they didn’t remember the water tanks were there half an hour in.
