"Think its worth seeing Oppenheimer at the IMAX if you can - we saw it at a smaller cinema and that may be why we all thought it was a bit underwhelming overall, especially the third hour."

"Booked to see Oppenheimer at the Imax. Almost every single showing sold out, barring a couple of seats here and there. even at the 8.15 am showings. Nuts. Hopefully it's worth it."

"nerd I'm pretty sure Amazon is a major studio these days, mate. I would characterise IMDB as 'less bad than RT' - it's still stuffed to the gills with shills and corporate bias."

"Manuel Rotten is rotten, my friend. So is IMDB. They are owned by the studios, manipulate figures for the studios and occasionally outright lie for the studios. They are also very political. The critics, mostly wokies in the first place, are often bought and paid for with goody bags and free invitations to pre-screenings and conventions, and the highlighted 'verified' audience reviews are basically written by employees of the studios. Metacritic is a bit less corrupt."

"CS - Yep, agree. I found it pretty riveting. I enjoyed Jack Lowden in Gold and Slow Horses so had a nosey on him and found the film, I think it got 93% score on Rotten."

"Good recommendation, Manuel. Goes to show that you don't have to throw tens of millions to make a decent film."

"Watched a cracking film on Netflix called Calibre (2018) with Jack Lowden, a real tense thriller set in the Scottish Highlands. Reminded me of Shallow Grave."

"Oppenheimer - as cinema, pretty dull, surprisingly. I’m sure the enormous book it’s based on is well-researched and detailed and the adaptation faithful and all that, but as a film, I don’t think it will be in my top 10 of 2023."

"Watched Eagle Eye on prime. It's a 2008 film with Shia Labeouf, but it seems more like a black mirror episode due to it's AI storyline. Surprisingly decent now, as I'd have put it down as a typical ridiculous action movie at the time."

Maneul I thought it was slightly less gimmicky than previous MI movies. A lot of hand to hand stuff. The fight scenes in Venice in particular were good.

"I've seen it and enjoyed it overall, but it's long. Some good characters in it but thought the never ending stunts and dramatic escapes started to become a little tedious and just for the sake of it, but it's OK if you're a 12 year old watching it. Yea, she is a bit of a weapon, doubt the oddball Cruise would have been interested though."
