"Chim - That's a nice way of life if you can just stroll into the West End. Joachim Phoenix is brilliant, so I may look that up, 3 hours though :-("

Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
"After watching those rip-roaring, goal-scoring Hammers frustrate the fuck out of Brighton to a superb win I strolled down to Picturehouse central in Shaftesbury Avenue and saw Scrapoer tonight. What a lovely little film it was with great performances from the lead kids. I actually got a bit emotional as the older I get the more sentimental I become. I'm becoming a proper poof! Best of all was a director who knows a film should be an hour and a half long I've seen SO many films that don't seem to know when to stop a film being three hours long. My poor old bladder and aching bones were certainly grateful.. Friday night I saw a film I could never recommend to you even though I am glad that I saw it, Beau Is Afraid with the always brilliant Joachim Phoenix. Yeah you guessed it, 3 hours long and didn't know where to end. Fucking maddening but had two or three incredible scenes, one in his apartment where the street he lives on looks like something from the apocalypse and he has ro cross the road to buy a bottle of water and one absolutely magical bit when he gets lost in a forest and finds a theatre company putting on a show of his life. If you get the film watch the first bit with his losing his keys and having to buy water, and the bit towards the end which is animated in parts about the the theater company in the woods and fuck the rest off and thank me later."

Scrapper is out today. The lead girl seems to be wearing a WHU shirt throughout the movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slyUJ1_eK4E

"As a general lover of Australian films I tried to watch Limbo, obviously trying for the award for slowest fim. I fell asleep twice, a new record for me. I was so bored that I slashed the seat which means that I have to buy a new sofa."
Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
"Sup bitches, long time...... Best film I've seen so far this year is Anatomy of a Fall, which saw at Locarno film festival few weeks ago. It won the Palme D'or at Cannes. ""Sandra, a German writer, lives with her husband Samuel and their visually impaired son Daniel in a remote mountain chalet in the French Alps. When Samuel falls to his death in mysterious circumstances, the investigation cannot determine whether it's suicide or foul play."" Slated for UK release in November. Coming up I'm looking forward to: Killers of the Flower Moon (Scorsese), Past Lives (Korean-US), The Zone of Interest (Jonthan Glazer new one), Ridley Scott's Napoleon, Dune part 2, Monster (Kore'eda), and the final film (supposedly) from Miyazaki, The Boy and the Heron. Anyone seen this new UK drama called Scrapper? Meant to be good. The central young girl has a Dagenham Motors WH shirt on in the posters."

"Paul - I watched it for the first time last week having never known about it, enjoyed it but found it dated, it was like watching Starsky and Hutch."
Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
Another great 80s movie I just caught up with To Live and Die in LA.. Super stuff.. I did love the 80s.
Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
"As long as the director Michael Mann hasn't made a pigs ear of it 'Ferrari' being released on Boxing Day will be fantastic... can't wait to see it. Revolving around the Mille Miglia of 1957 and my favourite era of motor racing, the story featuring the short lives of Peter Collins and Alfonso de Portago should be a winner. Being premiered as the Venice Film Festival at the end of the month so it will be interesting to see the early feedback."

"Pagey, I fully expect her to be wearing it next time I meet her and for her to be periodically smelling it just to teleport her back to being in your presence and the whirlwind of emotions that brings with it!!! Thank you for your kind words mate, proud as punch and just amazing to see her overcome all the challenges she faces everyday and turn that in to a positive and achieve things that I could only dream of yet she just takes it in her stride. Her drive and determination in the face of so much adversity puts most people to shame, me included. x"

"Jim, that’s brilliant to read and you must be so unbelievably proud of your daughter. Good luck and best wishes to her and I hope you and your family continue to enjoy every single moment. When you do next talk to Aniston, can you please tell her that I think I left my hoodie at hers. Cheers!"
Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
"Sorry its taken me a few days to come back on this lads but again thank you so much for all your kind words. This place can be amazing sometimes and nice to see the human side over the usual bickering and cunting in the bastarding!!! Pents, absolutely mate, best buds, amigos, brother from another mother and all that. Tell your boy I'll happily get him an autograph when she's famous!!! Never know she might even get her own ride at Disneyland, mind you I doubt there's much of a market for thrill seekers riding in a motorised wheelchair!!! Oh also I can't remember who asked but no we haven't met Jennifer Aniston in person yet, only over a Zoom call but we should be meeting up with her at the Premier which will be around next Easter I think. Thanks lads."

"Not a thread I look at much, just seeing this now Jim. Brilliant news for you, your daughter and the rest of the family. It was heart warming to read. Especially, in this site of current doom and gloom."

"Jim79 Love this. What an eclectic bunch we have on this site. Obviously I've spun the story to my son that you are my best mate so now he thinks I'm even cooler being the best mate, almost like brothers, of the father of a Disney star"
