NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"the pats defence will surprise a few people this year! had 10 turnovers in the preseason, that front 7 is going to be special, just full of versatile athletic players, QBs wont know where the rush is coming from."

Re: 2016 NFL Season
"never quite understand the need for idiots to comment on this group like that, like football is the only sport people are allowed to like and anything else is pathetic"
Re: 2016 NFL Season
"Saul, it depends. if you are over 30 like me, your peers consider you a sad wanker and possibly a communist. If you are under 30, you are a very cool hipster, though usually these hipsters get most of their information from pundits whilst understanding very little about the game. hth"

Those of you living in the US: Are the fans of proper football regarded over there as sad wankers like the english people who like NFL are regarded over here?

Re: 2016 NFL Season
"I just cant see how the broncos are going to score points, they cant rely on the defence to keep scoring game winning turnovers that's just not a maintainable level to play at. they've lost a few key pieces in that front 7 too. think the panthers steal it in a very low scoring game, good night to have the panthers kicker I imagine."

Re: 2016 NFL Season
the saints defence will be terrible but as long as they have brees they will have a good offense I like mark ingram as a running back if he can stay healthy and cooks looks like he could develop into a very good receiver. people are expecting big things from coby fleener in that offense too but im not too sure.

Re: 2016 NFL Season
tough game to call later. broncos with an almost new o-line and young qb against the panthers with a secondary propped up by rookies. i go with the broncos front seven to again doninate newton

"Unfortunately grumps i think your boys are the favourites for the number 1 pick in the draft next year, think even the browns have more good players than the 49ers currently which is worrying!"

Re: 2016 NFL Season
Just got tickets for the 2nd of October. Have no idea about NFL if i'm honest but a mate got them for us to go. He's a jaguars fan as well. 3 hours is a fucking long time.
Re: 2016 NFL Season
"crystal falace 12:05 Wed Sep 7 I'll give you the fergie/belichick comparison for recent success, but Lombardi pisses over both of them and the packers have had a longer, storied success like Man U. The Pats were shit prior to Brady arriving, and that's true for belichick too who was under .500 as a head coach until then."

Re: 2016 NFL Season
"in fairness to him his pre season has been basically perfect! think he had a perfect passer rating in one game, but yeah he has a lot to prove! Big test for him in the first game against the giants as the dallas defence is not going to be able to contain beckham and Shepherd. Dallas' best hope all season is going to be running the ball over and over again and milking the clock, like they did to great success with Demarco Murray 2 years ago. whether a rookie can hold up to that level of touches and not hit the wall is another thing though."
