NFL (since 2016)

"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"the skins get more dysfunctional by the day not only have we fucked about with cousins, we've let our two best receivers walk and our general manager is AWOL, not turning up for the draft combine and still away from the club as free agency starts. rumours are he won't be coming back, absolute fucking shambles. the day that cսnt Snyder bought the franchise was the day it died. he is a disgrace"

The Barry Sanders docu on Sky recently was a good watch. He played in the same OSU team as Thurman Thomas (who was a year older I think). Sanders was the back up in the beginning. Imagine that RB line up against you.

"Sanders was so ridiculously elusive it's untrue. So many of his runs look like he's down for a loss, but then he changes direction and outruns everyone to make a huge gain. Sanders created so many of his yards for himself without good or any blocking- IIRC the rest of his team was so piss poor that the defence was expecting a run half the time as well. Dread to think what damage he'd have done behind the Dallas line of the Smith Era."

"Far Cough 5:06 Tue Feb 7 Sanders also retired in his prime basically stating that the only thing left he wanted to do was win a super bowl. he did not feel the lions owners would invest properly to accomplish it and knew they wouldn't trade him, so he retired."

I have a huge amount of time for Frank Gore. His numbers and 90 TD's while generally playing in a fucking diabolical Niners team are decent.

"Agree with Barry Sanders, the only RB that came close to Jim Brown's numbers, he could have been the all time best but for the shit team he was playing with"

Far Cough 5:03 Which was the dumbest thing ever. That poll just happened to coincide with his hall of fame induction year. There's no way Jerry Rice is the greatest player in NFL history.

"Emmitt Smith had an extraordinary line- on so many of his runs you'll see him get into the secondary without being touched, which obviously makes it easier to be an all time great. Of the era i always preferred Barry Sanders :)"

"Be a tough call, as in the days when the Niners were better, the coverage in England was pretty shit, especially back in around 1988 when we all picked out teams for life out of a hat after buying the Madden game for the first time. Jerry Rice was incredible, but the lucky fucker had both Montana and Young throwing him the ball. Young is maybe my favourite Niners player. 43 rushing TD's in 169 games back then for someone who was in Montana's shadow was class. Used to think that Emmitt Smith was quality."

"Pivotal role in Mars Attacks! as well.... Who is everyone's top players? For me: 1) Jim Brown 2) Lawrence Taylor 3) everyone else LT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWB9ia_ZPjk The video is just scary. The speed off the edge and the way he sheds or runs round blockers with ease before annihilating the quarterback, sometimes just carrying blockers with him. He's there before the QB can even finish his drop or get through any reads. The ferocity of the hitting combined with that hand chop is just brutal."

Of course the Browns famously traded their draft pick to the Falcons which allowed Atlanta to pick up Julio Jones
