NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"Yep, I'm all three (although, I guess I'm on the moderate wing of Labour: certainly not Momentum)! 2019 has been a fucking disaster - and 2020 is not shaping up too well, either. Where did I put that arsenic..?"

"In these dark times for the Labour Party, as the Corbynistas assess yet another election defeat and scratch their deluded heads over how they have made the party so deeply unpopular, it is always best to draw on the legendary philosopher and former Jets head coach, Herm Edwards... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5-iJUuPWis"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
Think the Niners and Bills may have started to come up with a strategy to at least slow down the Ravens but you need a very very talented defence to have any hope of pulling it off. Seems like they essentially played single high safety (sometimes zero) with single mad coverage on the outside against Brown & snead and then just loaded the box and flooded the middle of the field to try and take away Ingram and the quick crossing routes to tightends. Obviously you need elite speedy corners to make this work as brown and snead can burn you deep if left one on one with little or no help and it still doesnt really account for Lamar just pulling the ball down and running it himself but 49ers and Bills held the Ravens to their worst offensive performances all season in those games using similar tactics. Just not many teams who can do the same (maybe the patriots in the AFC but not even sure they can make it to the AFC championship the way the offence is currently playing)
Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Although I'd fancy the Niners to beat the Ravens if we play them again, NFL isn't for you if you don't enjoy watching Jackson play. Bloke has been absolute quality and him, Ingram and Andrews are a pretty deadly trio."

"going to be alot of turnover this offseason, could be some longstanding coaches losing their jobs. Also think there could be a record number of starting QBs playing for different teams next year."

"I don't think Gase will last much longer, once the players are against you it's done. Callahan, our current caretaker coach, isn't the greatest but he has united the locker room"

"Well, I think the Jets showed the entire league just how to deal with Jackson. Just like Corbyn showed the world how to win elections."

"yes mate, sadly that was the case it was good to win though, and also good to hear one of the top boys on awesemo also does what I do when checking scores by covering the balance and slow revealing? I thought it was just my nutty superstition, but even the blokes winning hundreds of thousands do it :.)"

We shall see Crystal! Interesting you mention Josh Allen as he's my quarterback...he has a tough match up with the Steelers so I think I'll definitely lose the QB battle!

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"I've got a few tough matchups elsewhere and am short at receiver since Ridley went down, being forced to play a hobbled OBJ this week and Freeman and Montgomery at running back are very boom or bust, and both of my tightends may or may not be healthy. So i really needed this good headstart!"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
Jackson should've been rested - 37 points! Is that play-offs over for me already?

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Josh Allen would be the modern equivalent of newton, he's taken a few huge hits this year, remember the game against the pats where he lowered his helmet to try and get the first down and got knocked completely out cold. I do worry about Jackson fighting for the extra yardage though, yes that Touchdown run against the bengals was amazing with the spin move that did about 4 defenders but only takes one linebacker not to bite on it and compeltely level him as he turns his back and his season may be done. The extra yards are great but needs to learn when to just slide and settle for what is there"

"jackson 's like rg3 but physically stronger and with a better arm, newton encourages contact and takes far more risks on carries"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"While they are both obviously great runers they are very different runners, Jackson mostly avoids any big hits whereas Newton being so big would try and run over people, was also used a lot as a goal line back. Also Newton due to his size got very little protection from referees, seen Jackson get a few fairly soft roughing calls already this season"

"yes, I think they need a more conventional, bigger receiver that can play out side but as you say, it's an amazing improvement from his rookie year"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Yeah i think they will have to evolve the offence over time, cant just keep running the QB 10-15 times a game and running 3 tight end sets with really only 1 viable wide receiver on the team. But he has improved so drastically as a passer from last year that i think he could thrive in a more regular offence, similar to how Russel Wilson operates."

"37 points for your man Jackson. The geezer is a machine. Eventually he will get slower with the hits, took a big one early on yesterday, and defences will work him out a bit but the thing about him is, he can stand in the pocket and throw the ball."
