"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"love your defence, grumps but I worry about how you handle all their potential match winners in mahomes, williams, hill and kelce. the one positive you can take is from that new orleans game where you showed you can win a high scoring game, and their secondary isn't great so sanders, kittle and samuels could have a big night"

"49ers have the best team for me, but we dont have a QB anywhere near the class of Mahomes, so if he has a cracker, he can easily take it away from us."

"So, just iver 24 hours to go and it is a sorry state of affairs when you look forward to watching the Superbowl more than football these days. Even though my team (Packers) are not playing I will be staying up for this (off on Monday) as the PATSIES are not in it so at least someone 'new' wins it. What do we reckon then? 49ers have played well all season but I fancy Mahomes to have a big game tomorrow. 49ers 24 Chiefs 34"

"I watched the Pro bowl you didnt miss anything, not a single tackle, they just stopped and cuddled as soon as they got close to eachother, and the commentators spent the whole game talking about Kobe Bryant. Saw a stat today that Eli manning never won a playoff game in any other year apart from the superbowls. crazy how hot he got for 2 runs while being distinctly average his entire career"

Crystal. You being a Pats fan. I expect nothing but disdain when it comes to Eli. But the guy is going into Canton. When the history books are written about this era. Eli and the Giants will be the fly in the ointment when people start getting misty eyed over Saint Tom and the Patriots. And that alone would be more than enough for most NFL fans outside of New England. For Eli to get into the HOF. Tragic news about Doleman. I shit that disease.!

A decent piece on sky sports on both tight ends. https://www.skysports.com/nfl/news/12118/11918924/george-kittle-vs-travis-kelce-who-is-the-best-tight-end-in-the-super-bowl I'd have to agree with Cook here. Kelce narrowly gets it.

"Brown is completely out of control - guy's going to end up in jail at this rate. Crystal - yep, I agree. At his peak, Eli was a very good QB - but he was never elite level like his brother or some of his peers. There was a period, though, when he was a clutch player and would produce winning drives exactly when his team needed them. His form and ability fell away chronically towards the end. But nobody can take the two Superbowl wins away from the guy. First of a few big names to go in the next 12 months. Brady, Brees and Roethlisberger will play just one more year, I suspect. That golden generation is beginning to come to an end."

"Eli Manning officially announced his retirement, going to be an awful lot of discussion on if he's a hall of famer. Shouldnt be IMO as in his whole career i dont think he was ever even a top 5 QB for any year, it's just going to be purely based on those 2 superbowl runs."

"He's from Ohio so cant see him refusing to go to his hometown team. They have some decent pieces there, just need to see if the headcoach is actually any good as Burrow could turn them into a solid team instantly although they'll be in a very tough division. I read Burrow is 1 month older than Lamar jackson who already has 2 seasons in the NFL, Burrow was a mediocre QB in college and stayed the full years only had a huge breakout year this season in his senior year."

"What's he expecting, the Patriots to come in for him as brady will be gone soon? A quality QB can help elevate a team, so I dont know why you wouldn't want to go in to a shit team and help turn them around and show that you're the bollocks, like Jackson and Mahomes have done, though obviously their teams weren't as shit as the Bengals. Niners have shown that it only takes a couple of years to turn it around and if AJ Green is back next season, he makes a massive difference."

"""Huve positive is the chiefs are one of the teams I wouldn't mind losing too. I mean tyrek hill and kelce are a couple of the biggest cunts in the NFL, but hard not to like mahomes and andy reid."" Exactly this. Obviously I want to see the 49ers win again, but I won't be too distraught if it ends up with Reid's team winning a Super Bowl which he richly deserves."
