NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Big name but not all that much production, he can be pretty disruptive when healthy but never put up huge sack numbers even playing opposite JJ Watt. And he has injury issues. i was expecting him to make huge money just because that's how it works when the next wave of talented players reaches free agency, but he's definitely not the elite pass rusher that he wants to be paid as."

RBshorty 2:06 Thu Mar 19 He wants 5mill more than the franchise tag at that position. He will have to lower his expectations a lot before he gets into bargain territory.

Hermit Road 12:30 Thu Mar 19 Mixed Leadership for one last try. But Vonn Bell is the better actual player at this point and having both will be a lot of money in the middle secondary.
Re: NFL (since 2016)
Yeah I'm gutted about Gurley if it's true. Cooks on the chopping block as well. There was a rumour of a trade with Tampa. They get Gurley and Cooks we get Godwin and there first round pick. I'd have been all over that but it's all bollocks probably.

RBshorty 10:27 Thu Mar 19 Re: NFL (since 2016) Rams are trying to unload Todd Gurley.(Good luck with that.) That is a real shame. Seems like a nice fella but his body is broken to bits.

Re: NFL (since 2016)
The Eagles letting Malcolm Jenkins go is going to have a big impact on the dressing room. Probably makes sense from a financial point of view for a player of that age but it won't be without its downside. Apparently he is off to the Saints so IOC might be happy.

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"I really dont know i saw on twitter a reporter who is close to the team said they have had a plan in place as they were assuming that Brady may not have been coming back. They have the young backup who was amazing in the preseason last year and may just see what they have in him. Chargers have announced they're sticking with Tyrod Taylor and then will probably draft a QB so the Pats are really the only team left without a proper starter meaning they can probably take their pick out of Dalton, Winston, Newton and whoever else, probably see if they can get someone on a bargain prove it deal for a year or 2. the more i think about it the more i really do want Winston in there, has clear upside and thinkt hey could get the best out of him. Cam Newton has gotten really fucked over by the situation as the Panthers dont want him but no team will trade for him until he can do a physical, and he can't do a physical until the Pandemic lockdown is lifted."

"In the event that they don't, though, I'd still like them to know that Jets fans continue to hate Bill. And napkins. Just want to make that clear. Like, really clear."

"Crystal - who do you think Bill has got his eye on? He's too good not to have thought this through, so I'm assuming he's got a veteran free agent or trade in mind, or he's already spotted his man in the draft?"
Re: NFL (since 2016)
Minshew Mania it is then. I thought Foles might have suited the Patriots - maybe they will tie up Rivers now. It would be fun to see Bellichick's angry face when his new QB Jameis hurls bombs straight to oppo's corners though.

Re: NFL (since 2016)
yeah just looked at that. That is a lot of money. Hard to carry two QBs on starter money.

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Bucs will really have to work on the Oline in the draft and whats left of free agency, yes winston was careless with the ball last year and threw it up for grabs alot but he was running for his life most of the season behind that Oline. The longer it goes on the more i actually find myself wanting Winston in New England, has huge upside just needs to cut out the bonhead plays which the quick passing Mcdaniels offence should help with. Also would be a perfect way to test who was more valuable between Brady and Bill if they essentially swap QBs with tampa"
Re: NFL (since 2016)
"I'm not having it with Brady, crazy spending 30 mil a year on some cսnt almost as old as me, regardless of what he has done in the game. Clearly started to look his age towards the end of the season. Then again, winston was absolutely fucking useless, so even kaepernick would have been an improvement."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
Think he has 2 more years left in him unless his play falls off dramatically. I know the patriots will play the Bucs next year so wouldnt be surprised if they move that to late in the season and have a big Tom Brady retirement party

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"That's one heck of a potential offense Brady is joining in Tampa. Two 1,000 yard receivers last year - Evans and Godwin. Plus a good young running back. Arians is a superb offensive coach. But how long will Brady be there? He's 42. He might just get one season down south - so it really will be 'win now' for that lot."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Some good and bad moves by the Jets in free agency. We were always expecting that the new GM and The Idiot Gase would try to strengthen the O-Line this summer, because it was embarrassingly bad last season. Snapped up a strong centre, McGovern, from the Broncos (paid quite a lot for him, but he's good and durable). Also took a left tackle (Fant) from the Seahawks - he's a bit more of a risk, and we've probably overpaid for him. He's never really been a starter and now he has one of the most important jobs at the franchise - protecting Darnold's blind side. Could work out - probably won't. We also took a decent left guard, Lewis, in free agency. So the line is now looking heavy. Should open up some holes for Bell. But by taking a costly left tackle in free agency, what that deal has done is make us all wonder what Gase will do with our first round pick in the draft. Everybody was expecting that pick would be used on a talented left tackle. Puts us back in the game for a WR in the draft, which is desperately needed."
Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Brady is a Buc! IOC I agree about Bridgewater he does come across as a nice guy, he's also a good QB, makes gooddecisions. I'm surprised it took him so long to nail down a starter spot after his injury. I'd like to see him do well too."

"Bridgewater seems a nice guy, so I appreciate him getting a starting gig. Can't really wish him luck, but it is better listening to Cam Newton a couple times a year."
