NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
Going for a feel-good Ravens victory tonight. Their chances took a hit with poor clock management/time wasting by the Steelers at the end of the half.

"southbankbornnbred 2:29 He was just the latest in the long line of flash in the pan decent QBs who get overhyped by the media and then shat on by the same people as soon as things go against them. Lamar Jackson will be rumbled soon as well IMO. Great athlete but only an average passer, and you can't trade like that for too long in the NFL. He'll be neutralised by gameplanning or badly injured."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Didn't Prescott reject what they offered him? (Which I think was a pretty good deal) He'll get another contract anyway, be it in Dallas or somewhere else, but probably not as good now as what he's turned down. That's the risk of playing without a long term contract. He's a good but not great QB who has benefitted from and elite line, running back and some very good receivers which paints quite a flattering picture."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Wentz is taking a battering these days, isn't he? His level has fallen anyway, but he's now not getting the protection he needs. In combination, that's left the Eagles flailing."
Re: NFL (since 2016)
Fitzpatrick also seems to have an understanding of how to use Gesicki (basically a massive slot receiver) and get the ball to him where Tua does not. Early days I know and maybe a different playbook but still.

"zeb, I like gaskin and have used him when fit on my dfs teams but he still needs some help. I think the dolphins have improved a lot in a very short space of time and have a genuine elite receiver in parker. I'm just not sure how long tua will take to get comfortable, fitzpatrick definitely gets more out of the receivers hermit, as I said, I think prescott should have got the big deal rather than elliott. I hope dak moves on and proves the cսnt jones wrong, I just hope it isn't with your mob :.)"

"Takashi Miike 12:33 Mon Nov 30 That's fair enough, he definitely has not stepped up in big pressure moments. He does have a good skillset though. That being said, he has also benefitted from a tremendous array of weapons at Dallas"

"hock, you're having an impressive season but the lack of a running game will leave you short in the playoffs"
Re: NFL (since 2016)
"No respect for the Dolphins. ANYWHERE. Last night on Red Zone, Hanson brought up a graphic towards the end of the night that had the current division leaders, wild card incumbents, and those still in the hunt. Miami, who at the time were ranked 6th (the middle wild card sport) were ignored, while Hansen talked about how Baltimore still had a lot to do (ranked 8th), and how awesome the Colts looked (1 place below us at 7th). FWIW I think this may be at least 1 season too early for us to make any sort of dent in the playoffs, but why no respect for the record? We still have 3 very winnable games left which would put us at 10 - what is the world going to do then?"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"I think we'll win a couple more games so Lawrence, Fields and Ehlinger will be long gone, but I do want a QB and Zach Wilson is the one i'd love, Mac Jones is another. I've watched quite a bit of Wilson and he's the exact type of character you'd want leading a team. I just hope Snyder keeps his nose out of the draft discussions :.)"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"By far the most important appointments/acquisitions are going to be head coach and offensive co-ordinator, though. If you gave Trevor Lawrence to Gase, our current coach would ruin him within weeks. There's no point drafting John Elway if you coach any inspiration out of him. Thankfully Gase is gone the moment the season ends."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"If the Cowgirls were silly enough to give up two first round picks, two second-rounders and 4/5s just to land Lawrence (which is what some carried-away commentators are talking about), then I'd be seriously taking a look at Fields and Sam Ehrlinger if I were the Jets. Lawrence does look very good, though. It's going to be a tough one to judge."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"TM - yeah, Harbaugh may not be the answer. He did well with the 49ers, but during a period when the run/pass option offense was in vogue (especially under Kaepernick). Teams have figured the option approach out now - they just send a linebacker in directly behind the defensive end and bash-up both the RB and QB. So I'm not sure about Harbaugh's effectiveness now. Bienemy would be a strong appointment, in my view. He has a very solid and long background as a successful OC and has spent years learning from Andy Reid. But, you're right, whoever comes in still has to work with the Johnsons and with an unproven GM. So it's going to be a hard slog attracting real quality to the Jets. A LOT of reform is required first."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Hermit - I totally agree (hence, if I were the Jets, I'd at least consider keeping Darnold and, shock horror, actually trying to develop him). But Jerry Jones is just the sort of 'fool and his money' who might massively over-spend to get Lawrence from the Jets or Jags if he feels there's a trade to be had. I like Prescott, even tho' I hate the Cowgirls. Would like to see hikm return from that terrible injury, but it will be a while."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"whoever your mob approach, the candidate will still have to work with the clueless owners & gm, so it may not be just lawrence who turns them down. harbaugh may be leaving michigan soon, but he's been a disaster in that job considering how much they pay him. if you want to move on, you may need to gamble again & I think bieniemy would be a brave but good appointment. that he'd want to leave a kansas team that look like they could win multiple more superbowls is the big question"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"I feel dirty saying this, but Dak Prescott is a good QB and Dallas not locking him down for a long time would be a terrible, terrible decision. So let's hope they tank, get Lawrence and have a decade of regret while Prescott does well elsewhere. For all the excitement about draft picks, they rarely live up to it. Seems reckless to lose a proven QB on the off chance that another one might come good"
