"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"The standard of kickers and punters seems to have gone down a bit - across the league - from a highpoint a few years ago. I read something a few weeks back suggesting it was because the new training drills tend to prioritise kick length above accuracy a little more than in the past. Which seems a bit odd. Don't know how true it is, but the former NFL coach was saying that teams seem to want a kicker who can make a 64-yarder once every blue moon, above somebody with a 95% success rate. I think the guy writing the piece was getting a bit carried away, but I'm sure training drills have changed a lot recently - especially with the distance changes for PATs etc."

Hermit Unfortunately/fortunately my family has a couple birthdays and a couple anniversaries in the middle of this month so we often do our extended family Christmas/celebration of those on the second Sunday in Dec. So I was zooming pretty late - again probably lucky in the end. From what I am reading playing one half of football was not enough but congrats and Hurts deserves a ton of credit.

"Here's your stat of the day. Miles Sanders just became the first man in 56 games to chalk up 100 yards rushing against New Orleans, ending the longest streak in NFL history."

"Wouldn't stress it TK, I'd fancy the jets to beat our 2nd stringers as we're not an attacking threat without all of our offensive weapons. Mullens is abysmal and any receivers who could make plays are all dead. Reckon we should put a bid in for the QB who the broncos used a couple of weeks ago :o)"

Absolutely mullering the Jets here. Did wonder if the worst defence in the league vs the worst team in the league would be an open game - it is not!

Vikings kicker from 40 yds to make it a one score game aaaaaaaaand. He chokes. Again. 12 points in a game where they are 9 behind.

The Vikings kicker is killing them. Which is a shame because I have got the Vikings to win. He has cost them seven points so far.

"Darnold has talent. His mechanics are solid, his arm is decent and his drop-back/pocket method indicates he is a potential long-term NFL starter. He has been wasted by the worst franchise in the NFL coached by the worst minds. So his reads have not improved enormously over three seasons and his check-downs need work. But they are exactly the wort of things that Belichick and McDaniels coach superbly. Darnold is a good fit for the Patsies. Unfortunately!"
