NFL (since 2016)

"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"I'm not a fan of wentz. he's far too reckless, and turns the ball over far too much but at least he'll be playing now for a coach who believes in the run game so he may get his confidence back"

22 QBs taken in the first round from 2009-16 and not one of them is still with the team who drafted them.

Eagles trading Wentz to the Colts for a third and conditional 2nd round pick. May be the missing piece the colts need?

"Sad news - he was a fine wideout. Sounds like his family reported him missing, the police located him at the hotel and then found him dead a few days later."

Wouldn't be surprised if Watt ends up at a contender in the NFC. Like Brady.?

"Actually, just looked up his stats for last season. They were solid (without being up to his previous spectacular standard) and he played a part in every Texans game. So his injuries held up. If he's still motivated, then he'll be worth a punt for a side seeking some experience."

"Up until 2016, that guy was a beast. His sack rate was unbelievable. Then he got injured and was never quite the same, although he did an excellent season in 2018 when he stayed fully fit. But in three of the past five seasons, he's been injured more often than he's been fit. He played most (if not all) Texans games last season, but his performances have tailed off a bit since his injuries. Still only 31 years-old and probably worth a punt for a decent side, providing he doesn't ask the Earth. But if you're looking to build your franchise, then I'm not sure he's a long or even mid-term solution. He could go to a good side which already has a decent defense, to shore up one side of the line. In his prime, he was superb."

"He deserved that contract, TM. A QB of limited talent, but who maximised his talent when playing for you. Good guy to have around the training ground. He'll mix it up a bit. You still need a starter."

"I'd be amazed if he left Seattle. But I would be unsurprised if he's going to use those comments to gain some additional leverage and influence over incoming (and outgoing) players. He's probably seen what Watson has done in Houston and thought he'd like to have what Watson's was offered: more input over his coaches and offensive players. You'll probably see a few QBs try this trick over the off-season now that Houston are having to bend over backwards to try to accommodate want-away Watson. That's why what happens in Houston is going to be important across the rest of the league. Watson has the second biggest NFL contract in history - and he's saying it is still not enough. QBs are beginning to realise that they are so important to their franchises that they can demand more (even if those things are not about salary). This could end badly for those sides that get their response wrong, either way."

Is russell wilson on his way out of Seattle? Very unlikely but some very passive aggressive comments about being unhappy with the team building and how many hits and sacks he's taken.
