"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"Sort of been very comfortable for the bengals this even though the score is tight, then have potentially done the cardinal sin of refusing to throw the ball to nick some 1st downs and going 3 and out."

Joe Judge shown the door at the Giants. Total re-boot. Next few seasons are going to be tough. Got 2 top ten picks in the draft this spring. Interesting times. Go G Men.

Grump I think we'll win but not overly confident. Confident on the pass rush but not on your backs I think that's our one defensive weakness. Will make a massive difference if pollard is fit

"Probably blind faith, but really fancy us against the cowboys. They had a very easy schedule and aren't that great for me. Only decent teams they played beat them."

"sbbb - yes, poor season for the Hawks, unfortunately, and at a time when the rest of the NFC West is on fire. Lot of debate on which one of Carroll or Russ Wilson should be out of the door. Pete Carroll is 70 odd, so that may be an obvious call, but there are doubts about the offensive strategies that Russ prefers which don't keep defences guessing enough. Think the problem is also in poor drafting in recent tears but we're going backwards in the NFC West right now."

"I am surprised that Flores has gone. Sure the defence has gone backwards a bit this season but it not all that bad. The problem is the OL and the rotating door of mediocre running backs over the last few years (Duke Johnson being the latest). Tua has had to go for quick timing patterns just to avoid taking sacks, well that and he isn't much of a deep threat."

Looks like the Miami fanbase is uniformly disappointed in that decision. 1 good free agency / draft (including throwing some draft capital to get Run CMC on board) and we had a chance of being in the discussion next year.

"Both the Bears and Vikings have sacked their GMs and Head Coaches, too. Total clear-outs in the black and blue division. That's the Raiders (who will surely appoint their decent interim?), Vikes, Broncos, Bears, Fish and Jags all effectively looking for new head coaches. Some of them looking for GMs, too. Whispers that the Giants might ditch Judge. There's even talk of the Seahawks moving on from Pete Carroll, although that would surprise me. Going to be a lot of musical chairs this off-season. Flores will walk into a new role if he wants it. Denver, Jags or Bears could do a lot worse than appoint him. Always an opening at the Jags! That one is available most days of the week. Anybody who wants to apply, just write to Fulham FC..."

"I've not been overly impressed with Rob Saleh, but he deserves at least another season. The Fish just recorded two winning seasons in a row - and fire their head coach of three years? [Scratches head] That is harsh."

"Isaac - wow, I'm amazed by that decision. The turnaround he'd overseen this season was excellent. Stories emerging that there was a LOT of tension with your long-serving GM, Grier. But, really? After a winning 9-8 season and that turnaround this year? Just read that he's the first Fish coach to produce back-to-back winning seasons for almost 20 years. And they fire him? That's Jets-level foolishness."

Big job keeping Debo quiet next week tbh if of probably preferred to stay 4th and played the cardinals but we need our big guns to turn up 4 weeks on the bounce and can Dak do it against top drawer teams on a consistent basis?? If we can get Pollard back we are well capable I just have my doubts that Dak will turn up

"And the Jets could start their defensive re-build (last draft was all about offense - hence we took Wilson (QB), Moore (WR) and Carter (RB) - by taking the cornerback Stingley from LSU. Best corner in a draft full of decent corners. The kid is 6ft 1, agile and plays like a rash - all over big WRs."

"Looking forward to the play-offs. Some vastly improved sides in there. As for the Jets, I'm fucking relieved that this season is over. Not just because we were complete shite for much of it, and won just four games - in many regards that was expected. I'm relieved because we can all now moved past this ridiculous idea of a 'honeymoon period' for Robert Saleh, Joe Douglas (GM) and their staff. Saleh's first year as a HC is out of the way and he clearly has a LOT to improve on. To be honest, he has been extremely underwhelming at times and made some rookie mistakes/decisions. In his defence, he inherited a very poor squad and one he knew would take time to improve. So that meant any assessment of him was always (understandably) going to be qualified and caveated. Thankfully, from now on the fella gets no leeway on that front - in good and bad ways. He will be expected to vastly improve the results next season: not least because the Jets own four of the top 38 picks in the draft. There are only 32 NFL teams, so we are close to having almost four ""first round"" picks in April. We also have a lot of cap room for free agency. If Saleh and Douglas can't make that begin to work in the team's favour from September, then there will no longer be any excuses. It will just be failure. I saw enough in the final few games to think Saleh's ""system"" is beginning to emerge. Our defense lacks talent, but I could see the system they play beginning to work in certain (small) areas. It needs a vast improvement, but Saleh obviously has a good defensive mind. I just wish he'd start calling defensive plays on match-days. He knows his system better than anybody - especially more than our DC. So from 2022, he gets no leeway. Results are needed."

"Lee Trundle 11:07 Mon Jan 10 Wasn't great, but that was also a piece or either diabolical officiating or cheating, as every other QB in the league would have been given a foul on that same play as the bloke clearly hit him in the head late, so the interception shouldn't have even been an issue. Spurred him on nicely and credit where it's due, done brilliantly on the last drive to get us OT."

"With the exception of yet another Jets loss, that was an excellent final weekend of the regular season. Can't quite believe that Pittsburgh have made the play-offs: Roethlisberger has been a superb QB, with a cannon for an arm, for many years. But he can't throw much further than his own o-line these days. Yet he's in the playoffs after the Colts royally fecked up by losing to the worst side in the league. The 49ers game was good, and Raiders/Chargers was superb."
